I just made my new PC with ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB. The score is 8659. Is this what I should expect from this machine: P4 3.6, 1GB 5300?

Also share your results.... ;)

3500 3DMarks with a 6600GT (128MB, AGP), 1GB of DDR400 @ CAS 2.5, and an Athlon 64 3800+ @ 2.2GHz (I have a crappy case and was too stupid to remember to buy case fans when I bought it, so I'm underclocking to reduce the heat)

7070 3Dmarks (Athlon64 3200+, 1gb ram, geforce 7800gt)

3450 3DMarks with a Athlon64 2800+, 1GB Ram and a Geforce 6600GT

Runs everything fine on high/medium settings @ 1280x1024 but I probably have to update in the future.

IMO-> nothing more unnecessary than run 3dmark tests...

On the other hand, its a really good way to find a reason for the expensive hardware you just invested in...

I don't think so. I run it once I installed new components to check the systems stability. If you know a better way just tell me.

so u say benchmarking is useless type of application?

I used to be hardcore benchmarker. Kinda still am.

4100 (XFX 6800 totally unlocked, A64 3200+ @ 2.34GHz, 1 gig patriol XBL ddr ram with tight timings)

Ouch, that 6800GT is seriously lacking in the speed department... With the A64 in, I get about 100ish more points in 03 and 05. Even if I take that away, it's still a pretty good lead over you.

You need to give your card a good kick in the pants, I reckon you could get several hundred more points from it. ;)

Yeah, I had to overclocked up to like 425/1150 IIRC, but it started artifacting bad.

Edit: Hmm, seems that was my overclock. When I ran it a few days ago at stock speeds, I only got 4093. :/

Ah, mine pulls like a champion all the way upto 551core/567mem..good for about 6800 in 05. I reckon it's possible to get more from that mem too, it's rated for 600mhz. :bangin:

EDIT: Maybe that A64 plays a bigger role than I thought, our cards were supposed to compete against each other...

What, we must not have the same card. Stock, my core is like 375 and my memory is 1000...

Oh, thought you were sayin' you had the same card.
