Random Thoughts (Political Edition)

And until Republican voters hold them to task, nothing will change.

And they won't. Because by now it's like a religion. No amount of facts can change their opinion.

The problem is not political per se. It's cultural.

A generation of people needs to be raised hating hypocrisy and bad reasoning. Until that happen, everybody will accept the worst farcical behaviours.

Yep. But the education of the next generation has to start now.

How is that not something already ingrained?

Do you want to have people who refuse to support hypocrisy, whatever their idea will be, or do you want only people who all say the same thing, because other ideas are compulsory silenced.

If you want the second, it's a political struggle; if you want the first, it's a cultural task.

I'm not that upset by hypocrisy. That is to say the sliding scale I have excuses quite alot.

I for example believe the airplane should be boarded back to front. However; I use every trick in the book to get on first regardless of where I'm sitting despite knowing sometimes it's not helpful to me.

Political hypocrisy is often dismissed and those who get worked up about it get nothing for their outrage. Republicans in power always spend like drunken sailor socialist but cry how Democrats are going to put us all into debt.

What bothers me is people with unrealistic political views pointing out the difference between goals and achievements as hypocrisy. People saying the ACA is a failure because it's not single payer. I had this discussion with my partners friend, an urban non categorizable independent bla bla socialist, who ignored the political reality that single payer wouldn't have passed. He doesn't support the Democrats or vote at all because they're hypocrites for saying they want single payer and then stopping at the ACA.

I don't think hypocrisy is that bad, I don't think messy reasoning is that bad, I think we all have to recognize were human and laugh at ourselves. Everything else is politics.

It's almost like they don't understand what the First Amendment is all about.

Eeeeeh.....for a student, and I'm sure for a student athlete, there's gotta be a code of conduct they are free to enforce how they see fit, without being unconstitutional, no?

Treads dangerously close and would definitely be challenged. Most schools just use intimidation and threats

[EDIT: Update: UPDATE: Congresswoman Newman's video has been reinstated, but without explanation as to why it was removed without review in the first place.]
