All-new V6-engined Toyota Land Cruiser

3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol and a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel. Both are combined with a new 10spd automatic gearbox
new adaptive suspension system too, which apparently improves on-road performance but also allows for optimum wheel articulation when you’re off-road. Multi-Terrain Select system knows what kind of surface you’re on

I'm trying to find the engine code for this V6 and whether or not it's part of the GR series that's in the Tacoma and dozens of other vehicles form Toyota.

Edit - it's the 1GR-FE V6, a pretty old engine design that dates back to the mid-2000s and variants are in the Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser and quite a few others.

Has this been an engine always offered but not been the standard?

It's been offered in some Land Cruisers and Prados in China, but the standard engine for the Cruiser outside of China has been a V8 since the FJ100, prior to that it was an I6.

LC300 V6 turbo engine oil consumption can be excessive:

Some use 1.7l between every 20k km / 12mth services. What on earth will be like with high mileage?

That's unfortunate. Now we see what Toyota does about it, they are kind of notorious for not admitting they screwed up.
