Random Thoughts... [Entertainment Edition]

Isn't that the theme of most romcoms?

You haven't read "A Good Man is Hard To Find", have you? Ha! I hadn't until this afternoon. Apparently it's a landmark "southern gothic" short story from the 50s.

It involves a family taking a trip. They have a car accident, and flag down help, who ends up being
a murderer who's escaped from prison whom they had just read about in the newspaper before going on the trip.
Everyone in the family, including the children, is systematically killed. None of the characters are very sympathetic characters. They are all a little shitty.

Nope, I haven't read it. Might make a good movie.

Edit: there is a wiki entry on it.

I just watched "The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window". I binged it in 2 days. I highly recommend.

I wish they took the sort of "surreal"/tongue-in-cheek aspects of it, like, 5% further. Not quite as far as Angie Tribeca, but yeah, I dug it. I hate that it
ended with a cliffhanger, though, because I don't see it being popular enough to earn a 2nd season...but would be pleased to be proven wrong.

I've been playing it for a little over a month. Usually takes me 4 or 5 tries to get the word. Sometimes I will solve it in a couple minutes, sometimes it feels like I spend 20 minutes sounding out non-sense words in my head around the letters I have already gotten right.

Please, please, don't start posting your scores...

It turns out I was playing a knock-off for a month until the app's name changed, likely to avoid a cease & decist/lawsuit

New season of MST3K is premiering friday for the kickstarter backers. Super stoked!

Dave Hill owns a guitar that is signed by both Ira Glass and Ronnie James Dio. It may be the only object in the universe with both of those signatures.

Apparently There's been a Birdemic 3 in production for a while. A Kickstarter had a goal of $100,000 and at only 5 days left in the campaign it only hit $42. Now there's an Indegogo for a "completion fund". They are only at, like, $150/$50,000.

Yikes.

I stumbled across this thumbnail of a Youtube "Behind the Scenes" video for Birdemic 2, and...double yikes.

What you didn't see...

*It's just the entire movie*

That thumbnail has strong "porn parody" vibes.
