The "Things that annoy me" thread

Maybe, but then fucking brick and mortar stores should step up their game, otherwise they'll go the way of the dodo soon.
And deservidly so, fucking dinosaurs, never anything in stock ' but I can order it for you, it will be here in 3 weeks'......yeah right, hatefull customer service by some clueless unmotivated to lazy to care gen Z er who can't tell his product from his arse, thanks kid, but I have done my own research, and guess what, not only am I sure of my own gender, I now also know more about the product then you.....and did I mention, never any good parking.....good fucking riddance.

The reason I never visit shops in this town is because they constantly bump up the town centre parking costs. There's very little there that you can't get outside the town centre with free parking. The local Aldi is planning to build a bigger store further from the town centre and lots of other shops are shitting their pants because the current Aldi is one of the few reasons people have for even going near them. It's pretty funny.

I feel sorry for independent, family owned shops that have to close but dinosaurs describes them well. I don't feel sorry for most of the crap chains that leave, and yet somehow the local funny-smelling WHSmith manages to stay throughout everything. No idea how.

Candy, fizzy drinks and other assorted crap that people buy spontaneously?
Yes I suppose so, it's probably one of the last places I would think of going for anything in this town though. :p

It used to be the best place for ink refill kits back in the day!

I have had only great experiences with local, specialized, customer-oriented shops:
The blokes at Garageland were also really helpful in making me arrive in Helsinki by recommending me an ace barber.
But of course, you pay a little extra in those small shops compared to ordering the same items (or mid to low price fast fashion crap) online. It's worth the invest for me.

Each time I am trying to shop for normal basic clothing in a place that is not a highly specialized (and highly priced) boutique, it's a fuckup. Tried to buy a simple pair of black chinos at Stockmann, the local slightly upmarket department store. Menwear department is rather small, organized by brands (I can explain all the commercial upsides to this, but as a customer it's still annoying), and in the end I am stuck in a fitting room with a far too small selection of chinos that all have in common that I don't like them.
So now I ordered a selection from my former employer Zalando and they'll all arrive here, shipped for free, in a few days. Is the ordering-and-returning stuff stlighly wasteful and not so kind to the environment? Maybe, but then fucking brick and mortar stores should step up their game, otherwise they'll go the way of the dodo soon.

Hasn't Stockmann been trying to avoid the dodo way for a decade or two now?

I went there last December as I had a couple of hours to kill before my train was leaving and while I'll freely admit I'm not the clientele for these kinds of stores, I found zero things in there to buy. The grocery department was interesting and if I had been by car and had a cool box with me I would probably have spent a lot of money.

Tesla on autopilot forcing the terrible auto high-beam you say? :D
I got dazzled by one on Friday and another yesterday, they don't like hump-back bridges where the headlights of the oncoming car drop out of sight, or tight bends.

Yeah, as soon as the camera thinks it doesn’t see head or tail lights anymore, up they go…

they could just try to put some little context awareness in (tight bend should be easily apparent from map data for example) or even just a simple delay. But here I am just talking outta my ass, I’m sure they’ve tried.

Oh well… at least you can force the high beams back down manually if they go nuts (which, to be fair, at least for ne personally, it’s actually quite rare - much more rare than the auto wipers trying to clean a dry windshield at least).

Next time text me and we go to a bar instead.

Sorry, I was that guy today at work.

I went to work sick…. :(

I felt great this morning. Annoying as I’ve visited a couple jobs today, it became clear that is wrong. :(

I was daft enough to buy a couple of new "good" business shirts on Saturday, and now I've noticed that they're short-sleeved, for which I have no use. The shirts came in the folded up form, so I failed to notice right away.
So I have to go back to the store in the city centre to get my money back. And buy new shirts.

So here you have the chance to start a new fashion by making sleeves from other material, like contrasting Hawaiian patterns. You could start a new craze. Or maybe not.

"Have you always suffered from cold forearms with regular shirts? Introducing the knitted, woollen lower sleeve shirt!" 🤑🤑🤑

When a network interrupts a commercial break to inform you that the show that you are there to see will be back in 60 seconds. Is that just how they tell you that the 10 seconds it took to tell you that was unsold and time?

In this country these slots are filled with adverts for shows on that channel, some ad breaks consist exclusively for other shows.

Feels like a massive waste of time but when shows are timed to include adverts then they can't exactly end them early! :p

That's what you get when a show is produced to include longer ad-breaks than our socialist european laws allow!!! :shakefist:

To be fair, they could just deviate from their regular scheduling? As in: don't program a 22min sitcom for a 30min slot if you're only allowed to show 6min of actual ads per hour ffs. last time i checked (which is a looooong time ago to be fair) the actual times the programs would start were all utter nonsense anyway (like 10:05 or 4:20 blaze it or some such), so why stick to 30min-slots anyway? see, i've come up with a new annoyance! (german?) linear TV scheduling... because the main news program airs from 20-20:15h, everything that anyone else wants people to watch starts at 20:15h... which is weird?
next up: the bloody public broadcaster online streaming service... it usually takes them 45+ minutes after airing to have the 20h news available from the main menu. which means if i'm late but not late enough, i have to go to the live stream and then start rewinding back to 20h like a bloody VHS-neanderthal in order to get the news!

We get those too. 🙁
