A little more modern would be "Moon Over The Castle" by Masahiro Ando.
That's a terrific song. It's in the GT4 opening movie and every time I watch that it makes me cry. :wub:

Another good one is "Static in the Cities" by Hope of the States, from the Driv3r soundtrack (terrible game, but smashing music). It's brilliant.

There is a noise that really gets to me, it's on the first Tranceport album and it tickles my spine every time I hear it.

I don't have a specific song that gets me, but I have quite a few that I find very moving.
  • DJ Shadow :: Organ Donor
  • Dizzy Gillespie :: There is no Greater Love
  • Boston :: Smokin'
  • America :: A Horse with no Name
  • Max Romeo and The Upsetters :: Chase the Devil
  • Black Uhuru :: Great Train Robbery
  • Soulfly :: No Hope = No Fear
  • The Specials :: Ghost Town
  • 10cc :: Dreadlock Holiday
  • Johnny Cash :: Folsom Prison Blues
  • Johnny Cash :: A Boy Named Sue
  • Johnny Cash :: Starkville City Jail
  • Elton John :: Rocketman
  • O Zone :: Fiesta De La Noche
  • Deltron :: Mastermind
  • Tons more

[*]Boston :: Smokin'

wow, a good tune, but never considered it to be "moving"

It puts me in a good mood so I'd consider it moving.

I was thinking more along the lines of goosebump-provoking songs, but I see what you mean 8)

"Benny Hill Theme"

(j/k: Try doing anything serious though when that is playing.)

Not many songs get to me, but "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle (lyrics here: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/onehitwonders/butterflykisseslyrics.html ) seriously makes me feel like crying everytime I hear it. Perfect description of the overwhelming love a father can have for his daughter. Makes me think of my dad. Also the instrumental Lion King theme gives me shivers (so beautiful, so lonely), as well as that song "Another Day in Paradise" by Phil Collins (lyrics here: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/phil-collins/108035.html) (cuz it just makes you, well me, feel so guilty). I decided to post links to the lyrics cuz I have no idea how yousendit works.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread, as I've got 32 hours of movie soundtracks, plus 16gb of everything else you can imagine. Lemme list a few of my favorite ones for ya, all of which are available on iTunes actually:

Choir Theme (Long) -by- Harry Gregson-Williams - Album: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty
