Saleen claims it will even smoke the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, and looking at the lb/hp ratio, Its no joke.

latest C&D - the S7 twin turbo can more then give the Bugatti all it can handle

Of Course the Actual car is no Bugatti, but the TT S7 is one amazing machine and another thing Americans can be proud of. The stereotype has been lifted :twisted:

Good looking car, but i hope it doesnt beat the Bugatti. The bugatti is such a beautifully crafted machine in every sense. And a 7 litre V8 is just ridiculous! each cyclinder is almost as big as the entire engine in my car!!! Oh well......one day!

EDIT: Just reading that site a bit more, it says the speedo only goes up to 240mph, so thats less that the bugatti for a start!
 
the engine in the S7 is psychically smaller and for sure lighter than the one in the Bugatti
 
sweet lookin car, still think the back is to long (engine bay if you will) but its just magic, butttt if I can choose, I would rather have the veyron, it just looks so great, its xtremely fast and still very stylish lookin
 
It looks nice, but the Bugatti would trounce it , and maybe the CCR. Also they need to update there list-http://www.saleen.com/saleen_s7_performance.htm the McLaren F1 went out of production 9 or so years ago......
 
What most people forget is that the Bugatti is a reliable car that can be driven comfortably in through towns. It's hard to make a civilized car that will do 250mph
 
My problem with the Saleen is people just looking at figures. Any group of knowledgable guys in a garage with time and money can make a car hit 250mph. Thing is, i don't feel the Saleen will ever have anything else over the bugatti, and that's what elevates the veyron above other cars for me. Not that it's really good at something, but that it's really good at everything.

Can't say i've ever driven an s7, but i doubt it rivals the veyron in any department other than straightline speed. It's what i'd call a one-hit-wonder/flash in the pan supercar, made to grab headlines with figures and nothing else.

Of course, i'd hate to turn this into another veyron vs s7 topic, but since you brought up the comparison, i'm offering my opinion.
 
didnt they test the top speed of this and found out that its even beaten by the enzo?

(remember seeing something about that on discovery.)

they can brag all they want IF! they prove it ..
until then .. the CCR still has the record.. (maybe the CCX if they do test it this summer.. of maybe the VW if they ever deside to prove what they say)

Oh yeah .. and then theres the spoiler.. let me just say this..
there is a reson the Mclaren, all Koenigsegg and the bugatti dosent have a rear spoiler
Spoilers kill topp speed.. (just look at lambo Diablo.. 10mph lower top speed with the spoiler)
Oh and there is a reson why the Mclaren, all Koenigsegg and the bugatti have sutch short buts... long buts create lift..
just ask Porsche.. they found out the hard way at Lemans :p

But the Salleen is a bull-blown race car with comfort to boot. And hey, you don't have to park the car to manually adjust its high-speed aeros. :mrgreen:


As much care has been given to the creature comforts of the Saleen S7 as to its performance. Great attention was given to seating position. The car features asymmetrical seating, with the driver position moved slightly more to the center than the passenger. This improves the driver?s ergonomics and the side-to-side weight distribution. Because the S7 features a custom fitted driver seating position with 6 adjustable pedals and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, it comfortably accommodates tall drivers. While Shaquille O?Neal would have a tough time fitting behind the wheel of an S7, drivers as tall as 6 feet 6 inches can enjoy the S7 driving experience.

To further improve driving comfort and ergonomics, the S7 Twin Turbo incorporates a revised pedal box. The clutch and throttle lever ratios pedals have been changed for lighter pedal efforts. In addition, the three pedals have been spaced farther apart without impinging upon the dead pedal.

Seats and other interior surfaces are covered in elegant leather and suede. Air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless opening for the doors and both trunks, an electric-headed front windshield, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an AM/FM/CD/DVD/TV system are all standard. The Saleen S7 also has one unique interior feature: a video ?rearview mirror? ? there is a small video camera inconspicuously mounted in the rear of the car.

A navigation system and polished wheels are among the few available features.
 
^I don't doubt that... About the Saleen... Hmm, it looks soo mad I can't really take take them serious. And some months ago a german Car show on TV visited them about that car, but they didn't drive it themselves... Its doesn't have any media presence outside the US... Guess that's its problem... It's the circle of life.

Face it. Cars are gonna come out and beat the Bugatti, but will they be as good? Who knows. The Bugatti will last in the hearts and minds of billions because it was the first car to hit 250mph, while being civil, pretty, and comfortable. Making an all around car that's as good, and as much an engineering marvel as the Veyron will take a long time....and even after it's been dethrowned, we shan't forget it.
 
i never was a fan of the Saleen. and it really doesnt matter if it is good or not, my opinion on it isnt gonna change. you are paying way too much for what it is. the prices are a little under $600K US for the 750hp one. i know it is very fast and handles very well, it just doesnt do anything to me. and im not being a snob that only looks at brand names either.

I agree, I never liked Saleen. Anyone gives you shit, I got your back.

alot of negative views here about s7 but lets just wait maybe TG or FG tests it and then we'll really know for sure what this car is.

im not a huge fan of Saleens i just like them because theyre not as bad as people say. the S7 is an amazing car. I bet if it was made by ferrari or Lambo or something italian, german company then it would be all amazing, but since its not, its "okay", "crap", etc.

I dont care if its faster than the buggatti. i hope it isnt. Buggatti is just a Master piece that came outta nowhere and blew minds away. What i mean is that its not a car that a company was workin on and perfecting over time (CCR, S7, etc). I only care if it can beat the ENZO.

And for all the haters out there... Here u go.

Yeah, what did you expect...H3 the best SUV/truck in the world?

American cars have NOTHING to say infront of European/Japanese cars..at least the ones you posted.

Go sit in a CTS, and it takes you a good amount of time to find the non-plastic parts in interior. Nonetheless, Car And Driver is one those American magazines that I would actually read.
