Snap. Don't know who is getting canned over this rather large leak, but official pics of the Jaguar XKR that was supposed to make its world debut at the British Motor Show in July have made their way onto the world wide web. From what we know the XKR will come with a supercharged 4.2L V8 developing 416 horsepower. Available in both coup? and cabriolet versions, the hardtop will be able to reach 62 mph in 5.2 seconds with the droptop not far behind at 5.3 seconds. The ferocious cat's terminal velocity will be electronically limited to 155 mph.

Pricing for high-po XKR will be EUR 94,990 for the coupe and EUR 102,990 for the cabriolet. The visual changes lend a new look to this precocious cat that appears remarkably show worthy. From the hood scallops to the mesh grille and air intakes to the aluminum-trimmed air outlet aft of the front wheels, the XKR's got style aplenty.

Whoaa that front end looks hideous, I cannot belive they have slept something like that through! :D
The back is nice though.

I've figured out the problem with the Jag's front end: too much headlight, not enough grille, especially that middle oval. Quad tailpipes make any car look good, but the taillights look awkward too, just like the non-R. This is shaping up to be the new XJS: coming right after the amazing XK8, it's just dull.

Nothing new or even unexpected. I can see someone getting canned for releasing info in principle, but the new XKR is not groundbreaking in any way. Great car and I love it though, but nothing I was not expecting in either style or performance.

Just another coup? :(

Dosent do anything for me, rather bland and boring.

Not that I could afford to buy it, but I'd pass on that car on the basis that they hid that engine... I HATE engine covers. A sports car should be able to show off it's engine, not hide it under a hideous piece of plastic.

+1.. well, I wouldn't pass on the car, but I don't like engine covers :p

Why do i still think that it looks a lot like the Hyundai Tiburon or Coupe or whatever else it's called anyway

Gorgeous. Maybe the front is a little too bling but hell, you don't see it when you're reaching 60 in 5.2 secs

Americans see a lot of the Ford Taurus in the front and as much as I adore this car, I can see the similarity too.

I dont like its looks. I want to like it, i just can't.
But who knows, it might grow on me with time. and its still an auto...

I still look at it and say, that is such a perfect descendant of the E-Type

I can't believe you don't like it! My neighbor has one, it's absolutely gorgeous. Albiet, the sound it makes is not that raspy as top gear might make it seem

Mmmm yes, one XKR coupe please (even though I don't think the mesh grilles look all that good).

That really is a bad excuse to not want a car. How often do you actually look under the bonnet?
