Correct. Single player is physically disabled ingame and you cannot create a server. It also requires a valid key to install and to play online.
 
None of the Battlefields have ever had any single player really...
 
Well, I am sure there will be a single player option with bots in the final version, but the beta is online play only.
 
Yeah, the other batttlefields have single player, but the bots are pretty dumb compared to other games. BF2 didn't have any campaigns, just the different maps to duke it out on. Gets really boring on single player....
