I could help you by giving you details on how I did it ~ but I don't think I have got time to write a detailed guide (got final year project to do)

H Pattern shifter:
It works by sending keystrokes to the computer once a certain postion is reached.
For a Force Feedback joystick use this: FFShifter
For non-force feedback joystickH-Shifter
You can dissemble the top half of the joystick and make your own gear lever, it just helps with the feel thats all.
You could also make a shift-plate, its for feel and precision (without it you could "cheat" and shift from 1-3-5 or 2-4-6 by pulling left or right)

Pedals:
2 of the pedals could be like original and plug into the steering wheel. For the 3rd pedal you could either buy another set of wheel but leave the wheel by the side and only use the pedals OR you could just buy a pedal set and wire it to a USB controller.
I use this USB controller: http://www.lbodnar.dsl.pipex.com/joystick/
All you need to do to wire it up is take apart the pedals, see if the pots had the 3 outputs labelled, Ground, Input and +5V. It is usually in this order for logitech pedals. Then you just wire up the corresponding wires to the USB controller (it might be better to soldier it to a jumper first and then just plug it in, if you're buying the USB controller above, ask the guy to give you some jumpers).

Overall, its not that hard to do and its not very time-consuming (I'm a Computing guy and hardly touch a soldering iron). You could give me a shout if you need help or the people in forum.rscnet.org
