British firm Javan Sports Cars has created a new sports car called the R1 ? capable of hitting 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, and 100 in 9.8. Weighing just 1,430 pounds, the car is powered by a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC DOHC engine developing 220bhp at 8600 rpm. A six speed gearbox provides a wide selection of gear choices all the way up to the top speed of 155 mph. The standing quarter mile takes just 12.2 seconds, Javan says. The total "on the road" price will be ?30,139 in the U.K. A left-hand-drive version for the United States is also planned. A U.S. importer has already been appointed, and more details will follow in the near future.

Looks hot! Although a little like a squashed Carrera GT....
 
Quite an ugly thing IMO and your right - it does look like a squashed CGT. I'd only buy it for it's performance but it is very expensive.
 
its CGT at the front, but definately TVR at the back, but i think it looks pretty sick and the performance should be awsum on the track...mayb like a lightweight S2000?
 
Sounds like a great package - handling & performance seem very promising. But they need to change that front-end.

Yes, now that is a car the way a car should be! Clever engineering to make it light, dropping the requirements for power.

Ugly as sin. First of all it looks too tall on the wheels, like someone put the wrong springs in it.

Secondly, that is a face that only a mother could love.
