DC++ sucks now, everybody cancels your download.

I know :(

what do you guys use then? DC++ is good if you wanna download a specific song, not a whole album. Also I used to get my snooker and billiard videos from there too, never used to find any in torrents. so it had its advantages, although nowadays you can never find the file you wanna download with an open slot, its always the people with used slots that have what you want.

Bearshare. Maby we should stop the Warez talk now, we're not allowed to right? :coplight:

<3 OiNK (music BitTorrent site)

FYI: You don't have to download full torrents. You can pick and choose what files out of a torrent you want to download.

I never use BT if im just looking for one song, its much easier to open up a p2p client (Bearshare / Limewire) and just search for it there and not have to open a site search, open torrent, wait for BT program to open and then downlload :p

Whatever you say. :)

its not open for registrations :(

btw, aren't those limewire and bearshare clients have spyware in them? ads and whatnot?

i never knew that, thanks for sharing ;) .
anyway eMule is best for songs, it's a bit slow but it's relatively safe and it has the widest range of files around.

Somehow, I was never able to set up DC++ properly :? . It never connected, or if it did, it was f*ckin slow :( . So now I only use bitorrent

Man DC and DC++ brings back a lot of memories. It was never really that great of an idea (bittorrent is so much better), but I remember just getting home from school, logging on to my favorite hubs and just chatting for hours with the dudes on there. I met a lot of interesting people through the years.

I learned pretty much all about file sharing. I got myself capped by my ISP for uploading at full speed for 48 hours straight. I remember sleeping with my 65 db+ loud computer on all night just to finish that one download. Once the hublist went down for a week I tried BT and have not looked back unfortunately.

If you want to block out potential harmful IPs, get Peerguardian. It is the ultimate program for shielding yourself. With over 700 million IP's blocked, you can be assured that you won't get caught. I cannot stress how great Peerguardian is.

DC++ is still great if you know how to use it, have access to some real hubs and not the lame ones on the publists, and know enough swedish people (man 100mbit is like peanuts there).
I never get tired of watching my lame 2.5mbit get maxed for a whole movie or music album.
In short DC++ is like pubs(FTPs) ...If you know what you're doing, ain't nothing better.
