lol, nah

I didn't get a reply guys, and I tried a couple of other contacts but no joy. Let's just go ahead and get one then. I personally prefer the traditional open face style. I think it would look more like a display piece and less like a helmet left on a shelf.

Yeah, since he probably won't be wearing it, best to get a good looking thing than a more functional helmet at this point.

Guys, sorry I've away for a bit. Work is getting on top of me... :(
(And car has had problems, but that's a whole other story)

I also tried BBC again last week, no joy. Still haven't heard back from any of my emails either.

Regarding helmet, if we're now going for one just for show, open face is fine (though if it were one that were going to be used I'd still rather some sort of chin brace, or full face with flip up front). Still voted decision.

But even though we're after a black background, do we have to get a black helmet? It's just that this limits our choice quite a bit.
I was originally thinking of one of these helmets: (as an open face)

But they don't seem to be available in black.

ahh... I personally prefer the half face traditional one... looks more for car racing, like good if he just wants to go for a track day with one of his cars, simple and clean... but you're the boss :D

Nah, community decision. Not my money anyway. ;)

another poll? Or easiest like what I always do, we'll just buy whichever will fit my budget best :D

My guess is most people had a car racing type open-face helmet in mind, like these:

OMP Jet New Axis

GBP57, GBP57

Sparco Club:

Impact Racing Velocity:

Sparco Pro Jet:

GBP165, GBP156

Bell Mag 6:

GBP199

Simpson LX:

GBP225 (white), GBP256 (black)

Simpson Cruiser FR

GBP210

Only problem is they don't come in black (except the Simpsons), so I'd have to check what affect there is on the price of the painting for adding a black base coat. This gives an idea of the price range we're looking at, so we need to consider our entire budget and what this is going to cost (helmet, painting, shipping, other gifts - remember the plush hamsters for the kids?).

Those all look good to me!

Good on you guys!! A bit off of the BBC not to reply - they onlly had to check out this site to see you were genuine...

Sparco!!!

yeah, Pro Jet for me too!

Yeah shame about the no reply after the promising first reply i got. Hey ho. I suppose they are all really busy and could have more important things to do?;)

Pro Jet here aswell... Shame about the lack of reply. Just buy a regular sized helmet is my suggestion. Would indeed be a good Christmas gift...

I was worried that posting so many helmets would cause another prolonged debate - but looks like the Pro Jet is emerging.

I shall say Sparco but I must say CLub instead. Reason being the visor comes onto less of the side of the helmet so the graphics wouldn't be obscured by it.
