How about posting stuff from the Koran? Or does your hate only stem from the Bible?

I had a finals today, sorry.

At first I followed Christianity because I was brought up in a Christian household. During my teenage years I just went through the motions, being passive about going to church. It wasn't until I went on a mission for my church that I became "converted". Yeah, I know it sounds corny, and there were times I had my doubts, but I'm serious. I spoke with people from all sorts of backrounds, religions, etc. It reinforced what was taught to me growing up.

The point of this post being?

As far as I see it, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are cut from the same, dirty cloth. I guess pointing the finger at how other religions are bad makes you feel more comfortable.
 
I think he's simply pointing out the double standard.


It's perfectly acceptable to be a prejudiced asshole... so long as it's toward Christianity.
 
I hate religion but I found that clip silly... It's like a 15-year old arguing against religion.
We all know the scientific stuff makes the fantastic novel, oh did I say that, I meant Bible easily disproven.

I just think the concept of religion is silly. It all seems to be based around a persons ego, to secure one self for the future, it provides shelter for extremists and causes a lot of conflicts.

I would actually claim that it is more honorable to live your life with compassion and caring towards other people even though you think that it has no consequences as we all turn into dirt anyways.

Now that's true empathy/compassion/whatever you want to call it. Because there is no motive, except for the inner self-acceptance of being good.

Well, some people may only follow religion and do good things because they want to "secure one self for the future", as you said, but my relationship with God and the way I treat others has nothing to do with selfish motives or "what can I get out of it" because my salvation is not based on good deeds. If it were, what a cheesy, plastic existence that would be :) I do good deeds because I genuinely care about people. I don't even care to find the "inner self-acceptance of being good" that you speak of.

That's great, but that's how I feel too, hence I need no god (notice the small g) or religion at all.

I just want to be good to other people because that's what feels right to me.

I saw this movie....quite funny! Oh, and just a little correction:
He uses the weapon, "Orgazmorator" , but it wasn't made by him. It was made by "Choda Boy", his sidekick (an ex-MIT student).
