Wikipedia said:
Mildura is also known as the centre of Victoria's Food Bowl and is a major producer of citrus fruits (especially oranges), and wine. It is also very famous for its grape production and many wineries source grapes from Mildura, due to the red soil being optimal for growing the fruit....

...The settlement of Mildura was established in 1887...

...Has a population of over 50,000.

My city was founded by either Celts or Greeks,
in Greek mythology, this is the place where god Dyonisius was raised.

Historically, this is the birthplace of the Roman emperor who
legalized christianity.

This city was conquered by Attila the Hun.

In medieval times, this is where Friedrich Barbarossa
was received as a guest, during the crusades.

Today, one can sell a 20 year old VW Golf here
for an enormous ammount of money, thanks to its
immense popularity among the masses. :D

^ Ok, now I know where you live. Too many hints! :)

My city (Nijmegen, Netherlands):

- oldest city in the country (2000 years, just about, started out as Roman settlement called Noviomagum)
- Used to be the home of Charlemagne and Frederic Barbarossa (ruins of the Valkhof castle are still visible, there are plans to rebuild the donjon/bell tower)
- The International Nijmegen Four Day March, the biggest walking event in the world

Bad:
- huge traffic congestion on the bridge leading into the city twice a day
- stupid dog crap policy (whole city was planted full of dog do bins (so people needed poo bags) and dog walking areas, but after two months more than half of the stupid bins were blown up or otherwise destroyed. There were supposed to be inspectors going around that had to fine people ?25 I think if their dog crapped on the street).
- stupid nickname "Havana on the river Waal" because we have a left wing city council. We're not communist, dammit.

Farmington, CT

We helped some slaves i guess. And i think thats about it.

Now my birth town is a diffrent story, Stratford-Upon-Avon. I don't have enough time to list all the stuff from there.

That is what I was thinking too...wow! Beside Market Garden, I think your city has been a major crossroad of Western Europe for the past 2000 years.
