nationality doesn't change the fact that most people suck in general. i dont hold it against him. kind of like you dont get mad at retards for yelling loud in public.
Wrong. The People who he badmouthes the most, are the british themselves. Not just that they can?t build good Cars (except some of us Germans come along to help *kidding*) or at least buy good cars he recomends but everything. Clarkson hates everything about "modern Britan" and if you just watch the News Segment of the Episodes that comes quite clear.Clarkson despises everyone and everything that's not British.
Clarkson is certainly the UK equivalent of a red neck.
Clarkson despises everyone and everything that's not British. It seems that it really bugs him, that everyone makes better cars now a days than the British, yet he is desperately trying to convince himself and everyone else that Britain and everything British is the best.
Some very good observations here. I especially like the one about him being a closet American, fat, rude, and proud of his ignorance.
He seems to despise pretty much everything, there is no pleasing him, which is a shame, he seems to have so much going for him.
One thing that does bug me is some of the comments you see on the times.uk site after his articles. Many Britons insist that the US is nothing more than straight roads, 55 mph, muscle cars which can't turn, basically everything JC tells them to believe.
As someone who is very proud to live in California, ride motorcycles, drive fun cars, I'm bothered that he never mentions what a motoring paradise so many parts of this country are. California, Montana, the rockies, the list goes on forever. And nary a rude redneck in sight...
I agree.Top Gear is popular mainly because of Jeremy's inflammatory remarks regarding just about everything. Why should America become an exception to this treatment?
For I think of myself as a Californian more than an American, or as James put it, "We'd been warned by some American modernists - i.e. Californians - that the southerners wouldn't take kindly to any of our light mockery of the things they hold dear - Bush, heterosexuality, NASCAR, Country and Western, short hair... "
91 what, octane? Yes, that is super-unleaded here. Is there higher octane back east?

Sorry, I know this is OT, but... what? Seriously? 91 octane is the highest octane you can get at a regular garage in the US?
No, 91 is the maximum avail on the west coast due to strict emissions laws, but when i lived in the midwest and east coast, 93 is avail in most gas stations.
In most places, yes. There are gas stations that sell 92-93-94 but they are few and far between from what I've heard. I still have yet to see anything over 91.
