I love old british cars like Aston Martin DB5 and the Jaguar E-Type, but they are too civilised, too descreet and too "smooth", stylingwise. Exept for one car: The original AM V8 Vantage. Italian cars I have never liked that much. Yes, old Ferraris and Lamborghinis are very pretty, but they just don't do anything for me. For example the Miura...I think it's not that great looking.
Old american muscle cars are just the business. Big, heavy, loud, badass metalmachines that bring the hugest smile to my face when I hear a big ol' V8 rumble.

Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2.

Benz 190e Evo II (or even just the plain Cosworth 190e)

How do we define old cars? Cars that are out of production? Cause right now it's strechting from 50ies cars up to the Escort Cossie that went out of production ca 10 years ago.

I love the 190E too... what a great classic design. But as for classic cars, the Corvette C1 comes to mind:

Any newer than this and I have too many favourites to post.

Too many to post :D . Hope the pics work...

Btw 80's was the best decade for cars. The technology to make fast cars was already there, but the useless technology to make them safe wasn't :)

McLaren F1.
Ferrari F40.
Ruf CTR.
Merc 190E Evo II.
Porsche 911 GT1

My picks of the litter.

The E39 M5 is already 9 years old and it still looks like you could walk over to a BMW dealer and there a brand new one would be there sitting in a gleaming showroom.

I think the MB 1992 500E is worth an honorable mention

and how about the coolest Buick ever - the 70' GSX
rays70gsx-main.jpg

or how about the Ferrari 288 GTO

or the Toyota 2000GT

You said it all!
I agree with both cars you pointed and I add these:
Porsche 911 Carrera RS

BMW M5 E34

Toyota AE86 "Hachi Roku" - Yes, I do like Initial D.

Audi Avus - I know, it's a proto. But I always liked it.

Ford GT 90

And so much more I won't post pics of 'cause it would kill alll the available bandwidth.
But, some of them:
Mclaren F1 LM, Porsche 993 Turbo, F40, Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gull Wing", some 70's american muscle (Charger, Challenger, Cuda, Sting Ray), Audi Quattro Group B, Mclaren MP4-5B, Lotus 99T, Porsche 550 Spyder and 356, Volkswagen Transporter and, like it or not, one of the most important cars of the 20th century:

Split window Beetle, Lancia, 57 Chevy, and an old double cab VW Transporter...
