I replaced my old 200GB external backup drive with my current internal 400GB HDD, so then I bought a new 400GB HDD to replace my internal one. I got PATA because I'm old-skool like that 8)

Sometimes, with rebates, the retail is cheaper than OEM. Or, there's always I-need-one-now-and-am-willing-to-pay-the-extra-six-dollars-to-not-have-to-wait-syndrome.

What about PC World. Dunno if you have it in America, but they sell OEM stuff off the shelf. And Maplins. And maybe other places, but they are he closest two I know of.

Wth, some people actually buy retail internal hd's? My hd's come only wrapped in antistatic plastic ;)

OEM isn't always cheaper, especially when it's on sale.

I bought this Pocket-Rocket a month ago. It has an aggressive loud Sound, but it works fine! :D

Bought a black DS lite.. now awaiting my R4's delivery. DHL decided to get it to the local facility at 8am, but can't deliver it until tomorrow. <_<

DHL is awful. Often times they don't even actually "deliver" it, even though that will be the status on their web page. They actually drop it off at the post office, and then the post office delivers it later.

The company I work for used DHL for about 4 months. After several hundred lost packages (from just over 100 stores who were shipping with them) we went back to UPS: the savings were just not worth it. Another annoying thing: After 2 weeks, they "archive" their shipment info. So, if someone is quoted 2 weeks, and they wait for 2 weeks and 1 day before they check to see where the package it, they can't do it. You have to file a "special customer service inquiry" with them, in which someone actually has to search through their data on a different system, and call you back.

Now, this was about 2-3 years ago, and I can only hope they have improved.

Oh, yeah...and their drivers would show up not in any sort of uniform. Theyed walk into the back room of our store, and just start grabbing boxes. More than once, we thought just some random dude was coming into our stockroom, and taking boxes.

Thats rather interesting, because I have had opposite events here..

Database server from MD->San Francisco. Sent on a Monday(Ground), arrived Wednesday- perfect package. $32
Two servers from San Francisco->MD. Sent Friday(Ground), arrived Tuesday. $60
152LB server from Texas->MD. Sent Tuesday(Ground), arrived Wednesday. $40
85LB Laser Printer from Virginia(ok, not that far)->MD. Sent Wednesday night, here Thursday morning. $15

The local pickup option is amazing, as for $3, they will come get your package within 20minutes. Works every time I tried.

And the thing about the DHL->Postal, is something I have noticed alot. All carriers(FedEx/Oops/DHL) have small packages (under 1lb, or envolope size) via Ground@Home will go to the nearest sort facility, then to your local postal office. (Like my new checks..)

Sidenote; DHL usually over-estimates their delivery times by a few days..

*knock on wood*

That kinda strange, because Neither FedEx or UPS will ship to P.O. Boxes. I work in Palo Alto (Near San Francisco...we both use the San Bruno Hub) and I've never had anything come in, or go out ups that was delivered by the post office. Even a single standard envelope (It needed to get there overnight with a tracking number by 10:00AM...that's why. :p) that was shipped UPS was delivered by a UPS truck. Weird.
