ell fan-boys, here's your very first shot of the new Ford D3-platformed luxury sedan for the brand that emancipated the slaves -- the 2009 Lincoln MKS -- caught on the set of the next Batman film, completely without any form of body armor or fascia obscura. Look at it like these shots taken by tipster and Jalopnik reader Jarrett are the Bruce Wayne to these spy shots from earlier this summer. As far as what we know, well, we already knew the MKS would be the first to receive the new twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 (with an expected top level of 380 horses) coming out from the engineering and development team of the Dearborn-based automaker, we weren't real certain we'd like the look. Well, from this angle you can color us pleasantly surprised.

Not too bad. The twin turbo V6 does sound interesting. Here is hoping that it spreads throughout Ford.

I could do without the break in the grille, perhaps just a floating Lincoln badge on the grille.

Gee, can they rip off Illinois license plates anymore?

Should've used the old-sko0l ones I remember from my childhood:

looks pretty good :)

It doesn't look bad but it looks sooo damn forgettable... it looks like some Korean econobox to be honest, especially when you consider it won't be out for another year or two.

Well, Gotham was inspired by Chicago, IL - which is one of the reasons they filmed Batman Begins there. Metropolis was inspired by the feel of New York more than anything else.

In other words - ripping off the Illinios plates makes a bit of sense.

Oh! I never knew.

Looks pretty good.

Maserati Quatroporte taillights anyone?

I think the front is interesting...different. The closest thing to it is maybe a last-gen Mitsubishi Galant.

I so really like the Zyph-- sorry...MKZ's look...the headlights look high-tech, as well. These look almost on-par with them.

I don't know...I don't hate it. I think I could like it...but I don't love it.

Nice, not bad at all.

Now give it some decent steering feel and make it not handle like a boat, Lincoln.

Sorry I think it looks horrible. They have taken design cues from the Quattroporte, Citroen C6 and Saab 9-3, mashed them all together then put a chrome monstrosity on the front. Is that really what an American premium buyer wants???

Why can't Lincoln make an American car? Big, bold, with presence, a modern '64 Continental instead of this import ripoff shape? Yes, breaking out of the mold is not a bad idea, but without doing it well, it just looks like it's playing catch-up instead of "screw you", like an American car should. Sucks that Chrysler's had the big and interesting American car market to itself for this long.

I'd say another Mondeo ripoff ;) The sideline looks pretty much alike.

Reminds me of a Vectra + Rover 75 + Saab mix.
