Beer

The problem I have though is the price. Esp. because when I go to Nikkis I get overwhelmed and end up spending $20 on 4 beers.
Yeah, but if Bud runs 3.5%, these beers run mostly around 7% (some 9-12%). Even if we're talking "I want to get drunk" drinking, I'd rather drink one good beer that has the same effect of two (or three) cheap ones.

As I said, though, I'm a 35 year old Dad who barely drinks, so YMMV.

I was more referring to the apple beer and how I can only buy one because i run out of money buying other more expensive beers. Have you ever had Youngs Double Chocolate stout? It's got added flavors I think but its the best beer I can think of to go with ice cream and other deserts even more so thana well sorted eisbock because I find it to be much lighter in body so more fitting with the desert mood if you will.

^ Is that the one that also comes in a large can? I've seen that one at my mix-a-six and always want to get it... but something about chocolate + beer + can doesn't equate as good to me. I dunno, I may have to just do it and buy it.

Oh you have to give it a try at least once. Stouts are made with chocolate malts anyways and its pretty detectable in lots of em. It goes well, trust me:) have ice cream or cake with you though or you'll regret it

I just had the Sam Adams Holiday Porter that has very very slight hints of chocolate... I was thinking, even though it's not a stout, that taste made more prevalent would be good with dessert.

My all-time favourite :O.

Yeah, but if Bud runs 3.5% ...
That's the gas station/grocery store crap (at least in Kansas). They make 5.7%.

Ciders came up on the other page, and I had a pretty good one tonight. Woodchuck Pear Cider, I like it, but then again I love pears, so I'm biased. They make an apple cider that's supposedly amazing (better than the pear stuff), anyone have any experience with it?

Yeah I've have the Apple Cider before, but I've never had the pear so I can't compare. The Apple is quite good... but it seems people either LOVE it or HATE it. I find it very easy to drink and to be honest it kinda reminds me of the "chick-beer" stuff like Smirnoff - but just butchier cause it's in a pseudo beer bottle.

The best beers in the world are from Poland!
My favourite. I have just drunk a few. :p
This is well known brand Tyskie

And the local beer. The brewery is just about 30 km from the place where I live.

I'm leaving myself open to ridicule here, but I went to visit my sister while she was living in Oz and we both got a little hooked on Carlton Cold.

Is this a bad thing...?

It's hard to find in the UK and impossible to find in Spain.

It brings back nice memories though...

Don't worry about me, I like a nice pint of Guiness as well :)

I think that Carlton White can is the beer of ridicule in Oz - but please correct me if I am wrong. Had a couple of cans once, a long time ago (1970s) - seemed OK to me.

Just had a black velvet cus Richard said he had a bunch at that party in Should I Worry About... Drinking?. 1 part Guiness and 1 part Champagne. pretty good.

yes.
carlton cold is terrible.

I'm from Australia and we have some desent breweries down here. James Squires springs to mind, especally the amber ale or the golden ale. Both are pretty darn delicious and for $45 a carton you'll be hard pressed to find a better beer for less

Double Chocolate stout is soooooo good. It is great as an after dinner drink with dessert.

Maybe my internet's deciding to suck, but I can't see your pic. However, I doubt it can compare with my wall of beer ...

That's about 2/3 of them :D. I don't think we've got all the delicious varieties of Sam Adam's though, so hats off to you.
