we're at page 2 and not ONE mention of the Shawshank Redemption? shame on you, there are plenty of great movies with great twist endings, but aside from the original classic twist ending movie (Citizen Kane, which doesnt do much for me since i knew the ending years before i actually saw the movie), Shawshank is the movie with one of the most satisfying endings ever, and i can keep watching this movie over and over despite knowing how it'll end.

^ I haven't seen Shawshank, but is the twist bigger than the one at the end of Usual Suspects?

Best. Twist. Ever.

^ Its not a twist (well, kind of..), but probably the most happiest end ever. I loved it.

No. Best twist ever was in the Doom movie when you realized that the Rock wasn't the main character, but Karl Urban was :p

I'll agree with Shawshank Redemption. I'll tack on Star Trek II Wrath of Khan, it's one of the few movies that actually made me sad at the end. For a more family type movie, Old Yeller had a great ending.

+1 to The Usual Suspects. Best. Ending. Ever.

I also nominate the original The Italian Job.

Not the complete chase or the final shot (which makes the ending), but close enough.

ill agree with some of you and say Shawshank Redemption was the best ending of any movie i had ever seen. it still left you wondering, but didnt just leave you hanging and thinking.. "wtf?"

I still have a hard time believe Stephen King wrote that film.

yeah it was a clever ending that made you feel good at the end. i find it so good that i dont mind watching a full 2 hrs of the main character going thru all that shit just to see the conclusion again.

Terminator 3 - Just the complete opposite of what I expected, similar to the Empire Strikes Back (the bad guys win)

The usual suspects FTW.

Couple new:

Dark city

Dead or alive by Takashi Miike
