Problem is that I don't really have the time to use more than 1 or 2 nights on getting a half-decent time.

I find B class cars boring are because they are so unbelievably slow.
 
Maybe I'll try this week. Oh, and it took me like 20 minutes to set my number one time last week, so no complaining
 
So what is this then? Class A or B? RWD or 4WD?

Exige isn't 4WD.
 
Its class B and 4WD.

Try the Golf GTi 16v Mk2. It seem a bit faster than the Evo I used first.
