GM announces transition to all-electric future

Well maybe if they'd stop doing stupid stuff like running their A/C in January they'd have plenty of grid capacity!

GM announces transition to all-electric future

Keep in mind the world population is expected to rise from ~7 billion today to ~11 billion over the next few decades. We may very well see the number of ICE cars sold per year staying close to current levels, even if BEVs increase their share on a percentage basis.

GM announces transition to all-electric future

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The industry is expecting the boom in petrochemicals to push oil prices up over the next few decades.

    Unveiled: The Teslerr Model 3

And while Tesla was struggling to deliver 115 Model 3s in September, Chevy sold 2632 Bolts. Tesla fanboys keep telling me the Bolt is "just a compliance car", so what does that make the 3? :tease:

    Forza Motorsport 7

Bought Forza the other day, but I keep getting code 0x80070005 errors when I attempt to pre-load it. It's apparently a known issue that'll supposedly resolve itself once the game officially releases, but it's not a great first impression. Ah well, even if it still won't download tomorrow, at...

Bugatti Chiron (Veyron successor) spied during testing

Holy crap that's almost as much oil as an RX-7 uses.

    Unveiled: 2018 Nissan Leaf

The Leaf is around $20k, depending on state incentives. That's the same base price as the Civic hatch. The resale value on the first generation was atrocious, though (I know someone who bought an early one for $41k before incentives and sold it this year for $4100). Hopefully the second gen...

News: Audi adopting new standardized nomenclature

They don't want to have to stock so many badges, I guess. Just 30/35/40/../65/70 instead of every number from 8 to 40 or whatever. And then they don't have to change badges when they give the 195 kW engine a bump to 210 kW midway through the cycle. Or when they want to do shenanigans where they...

    Unveiled: The Teslerr Model 3

AFAIK, the Bolt and Teslas are all configurable. You can set the car to either coast when you lift off the accelerator, or you can have it employ some regen. I like the idea of the Bolt's paddle, because then you can set the pedal to mild regen and the paddle to strong regen, giving you more...

    Nissan Leaf 2018

Pricing and some specs have supposedly been leaked. 40 kWh battery and 147 hp (100kW) motor for $30k. So we'll have the Leaf/3/Bolt with 40/50/60 kWh batteries for $30/35/36.6k. I'm curious if the 60 kWh Leaf will be the same price as the Bolt, cheaper, or more expensive. My guess is that it'll...

    Unveiled: The Teslerr Model 3

If I were looking to buy a BEV in the near future, I'd probably get the Bolt over the 3 for this reason. Well, that, and I like the regen paddle idea that the Bolt has.
