The 'I don't like Tesla' Thread

There's probably some minor technical reason for it, which in combination with the marketing effort helped the buttons make the cut. At least on the recent Model Ys the buttons have lit-up icons on them to make clearer what they do. On my 3, I had to put stickers on myself. That reduced the...

The 'I don't like Tesla' Thread

100% agreed on the door handles. I can sort of get the outside - it helps aero, and there are other cars with similar handles as well (although they still require first time explanation for 99% of passengers). The inside door _buttons_ though are plain stupid and serve no discernible purpose vs...

    Random thoughts.... [Tech Edition]

I recently came across a quote that I found very fitting: "any sufficiently misunderstood algorithm is indistinguishable from artificial intelligence".

I agree, the current wheels look awesome on the car, and I'm not convinved by the available option. Also, if you're considering roadtripping it next year, I fully agree with lip - preventive maintenance and upkeep should be prioritized. You don't want a nasty surprise like the brake issue...

The "log-out" will only happen if you have the Easy Entry mode set up - it has to switch profiles to activate that. I don't use that or the PIN, so mine only switches to Park if I unbuckle and/or get up from my seat. Passenger doors and seatbelts don't matter, they only cause some warning chimes...

There is an "edit thread", but I can only edit the title, not the flair.

Ownership Verified: The wait was long enough: leviathan's Tesla Model 3 Performance

Unfortunately no. Either no-one pressed the button to save it, or it's part of what was lost due to drive corruption.

So, about that Ring lap... two more have happened during this year's Ringmeet, and there was some driving on a preceding roadtrip as well. Similar to last year, charging has turned out to be much easier than expected, even though we had two Teslas in the group and not just one. Some pictures...

    The "New Toys" Thread

Yes, it does talk - "cleaning started", "navigating to charging station", "dust container removed/installed" and such. There's a language selection menu in the app, not sure how one could add custom voices in there though.

I think it’s the other way around, Roborocks are rebadged newer Xiaomis. But no, this one is a „genuine“ Chinese article with no Roborock branding or anything :)

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro. Now the Chinese will know a somewhat inaccurate layout of my apartment... oh no, whatever shall I do. Got it as a replacement for my old Medion randomwalking vacuum, which is now serving my brother in his student apartment. This one is much smarter - it maps the...

Ownership Verified: The wait was long enough: leviathan's Tesla Model 3 Performance

Occasionally my employer will remember that I have a company car, and task me with transporting some stuff around. Today, this is my trunk: Supplying the kitchen in a new office of ours from Ikea. Do mind, this is on a slightly stiff lowered "sport" coil suspension and 235/35R20 tires...

Brock B32s were the exact 19" I was looking at for my winter wheels. Even ordered them, too, but TÜV happened, so I cancelled and went with the "swap 20" tires on stock rims" option. Great choice imho, and they also exist in gunmetal gray.
