15 month update:
I'm now up to ~65,500 miles and I still haven't gotten the front bumper dealt with. I am enjoying the hell out of the car though. 60K mile service went smoothly and while more expensive than in every other car I've had, wasn't all that bad.
I did have an issue with an...
I'm not a fan of the air intake bulge extending into the door or the way they decided to deal with the climate control buttons, but the performance (at least on paper) for the price is pretty impressive. I wonder how the DCT will hold up long term, has this unit been used in anything else...

Also, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra Sport (line #60) that I use to have, is no more.
Thank you, guys.
And yes, I agree that the exhaust tips look pretty dumb. I've been looking into a clean way to go to a more traditional arrangement.
I forgot to add that the prior owner had installed fake carbon fiber vinyl behind the fender vents. That has since been removed to reveal...
A couple years ago, I moved much closer to work and my commute went from ~100 miles round trip to about 3 miles round trip. The Elantra made some sense when fuel economy mattered, but now that I drive so little, the lack of fun in the driving experience has really been bugging me. There have...
I bought a 2012 Lexus IS F in Tennessee and drove it back to Arizona this weekend. This thing is amazing. I'll start a PYC thread once I get it cleaned up from the drive.
Some of the best candidates for cars are in California. Has anyone bought a car in California when they don't live in California?
My understanding is that the current owner will sign the title over to me, then I get a California title issued in my name, and obtain a "One Trip Permit ( CVC 4003...
Thanks to those of you that suggested the Chevy SS. I went and drove a 2014 Chevy SS after work today. I preferred it to the pony cars, but it feels massive driving down the road and the 6spd auto didn't set my world on fire. I do like that they just couldn't be bothered to style the car...
Thanks for the input!
I forgot about the Chevy SS. Unfortunately it is on the hairy edge of not fitting in my garage. I'd have about 1" of clearance on either end. Charger/Challenger probably wouldn't fit at all. There is one SS locally though, so I'll give it a try.
Two doors is fine, but four...
I test drove a Lexus ISF today, and I think I need one. What else should I consider that's similar-ish?
- Budget is about 35K
- Midsize car or smaller
- Not a maintenance nightmare
- Normal size trunk, normal entry & departure angles.
- More power is more better :)
