    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

Well I got plenty of pictures of said rider cornering. I'll let said rider choose any appropriate ones to demonstrate whatever he wants.

Yeah the next few maintenance sessions with him on that bike will involve threadlocker on all the ancillary bits. I think there's been enough history of loose bolts with his bikes :-D

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

So during our roadtip this holiday weekend @Der Stig had a foot peg fall off his motorcycle while I was following him. About 4 seconds in as the Chevy is alongside him you can see the peg fall off on his right side before making a couple small bounces and then flying up and off to the right...

Spyker back from the dead with Russian money.

I love me some Spyker. Very happy to see this.

    Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000

Maybe if I stop spending money on stupid things I don't need I can afford to finally upgrade my 660Ti 🤓

Am I remembering correctly in that there's a member or two here with a vinyl cutter and able to do custom cuts/decals? I have 4 words I need done in an orangey-yellow color fit in about a 1.5 by 6 inch size....

    Random Thoughts....

A residential neighborhood is not the place for spirited driving. I'm by no means a grandma when I drive, but I generally keep anything potentially risky to the appropriate places. In the last few months there has to be someone new who moved into the area near me, as in that time there's...

    Random Thoughts....

I bought customized sofa from Rooms To Go like 6 years ago. I went to many different stores and sat on many different sofas because my main requirements were plush/comfortable and long enough for me to lay down on. RTG won out with this one, and it has a pull out bed which is not terrible in the...

Ownership Verified: 1000lbs. Lighter! 1987 Mercury Colony Park

Yeah, skip over stainless unless you have the proper bending and flaring tools, and the car is already torn apart. Don't try to retrofit them in, it's not worth your sanity :-D And if you replace the wheel cylinders double check the flare nut size before you leave the store with them, you...

Some of us have nobody to hug. I'd gladly welcome one <_<

"I'm not speeding, I'm just flying low" The Automotive Aviation Easter Egg thread.

Yeah, unfortunately the safety nuts decided they couldn't use their original and vastly superior steering wheel, which is also topical.

"I'm not speeding, I'm just flying low" The Automotive Aviation Easter Egg thread.

It has only just occurred to me as I'm going through some photos I have saved that the lack of Spyker in this thread is an abhorrent travesty.

    The "i made dis" thread

A magnetically attached block hiding a security screw would be a fine method. I'd be tempted to just drill a deep hole from the top next to the wall down through both halves of the cleats and put a long pin or nail down the hole to just hold things together. at that point you'd have to have a...

    The "i made dis" thread

A french cleat running the length of that thing to hang it will be more than enough to safely hang it. Not only will it be easy to hang using one, but you get to secure the cleat on the wall across every stud it spans, so the support is more than adequate. See also these videos from John Heisz...

    Post Your Watches

🤓 Ack-chu-lee.... Seiko and Epson divisions are completely separately managed, and technically Seiko Watch buys their movements from Seiko Epson. Their whole organizational structure is a giant maze, especially one you start throwing in Hattori as well.
