A friend of mine with an E39 M5 would disagree with you. Parts are horrendously expensive. Porsche parts are pretty expensive too, and will cost you a great deal in either time or money. Ever tried to change the sparkplugs on a 997?
- Based on your target price, I assume you also don't want to spend much on maintenance. That will throw things like BMW's and Porsches out the door.
- Rather than rule out the Focus based on hearsay, just go test drive it and decide for yourself if you like the steering. It's a terrific...

Audis are consistently among the stiffer sprung cars out there, particularly with the sport package, such as mine.
In any case I wouldn't recommend an A4 unless you are able to do the majority of the work on the car yourself. Go with the G35.
Short of the specials, this is definitely the best episode TG has ever done, and it doesn't even have my favorite segment in it (cheap car challenge).
