[Ringmeet 2016] Standing around doing nothing since 2007

So, since nobody else starts a thread, I do it

I only took some phone pics, so I leave the writeups for the professional journalists.

For those friends with any of the participants, there is a shared FB Album where people started uploading all pics: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...9850046&type=3

    Thanks for the opening, D-Fence.

I didn't find the time to process my own pictures yet, so the proper review will come later. But for starters, I spent yesterday evening browsing through the picture sites of a few of the Nordschleife photographers and made a list. Here it is, untypically for me pretty much unformatted:

I hope I got everyone (even though I forgot some names, I'm sorry about that). There are more gallerys, but I had to get some sleep at some point.

And now I need to clean my car.

Just a few photos from me this ringmeet:

    Awww yiss!!!

    Found a pop-up headlight friend!

    A pair of TVR's

    Just missing one generation:

After my ring card flew out of the car during my second lap with the Mazda, a few of us decided to head back to the ring at 1am and see if we could find it. I knew it had left the building in Schwedenkreuz, so we walked a few km in the dark to get there:

Adamar found it on the right side of the track, what luck!

After one wet and sideways lap on Thursday, and one and a half (We were kicked off at the second entrance because of a crash) fast and dry laps on Sunday the tires on Sumo are kind of dead... (7 year old winter tires lol)

Ultimately I did a 10:17 first try and a constantly held up traffic 10:19 lap in the MX-5 (I am sure I lost 10 to 20 seconds thanks to idiots overtaking me on the straight and slowing me down in the corners) lap and a 10:20 lap in the BMW

    This year in short:

    - awesome people
    - awesome cars (Daimler, Lucille, CR-Z, MX-5s, M5...)
    - way too many BMWs
    - way too little Italian stallions. That made winning the award kinda easy, I need some competition for the next year. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge
    - I went on the Ring as a passenger for the first time
    - I lapped my Alfa subsequently after that because Kimo & Vltros talked me into it (not that I resisted much )
    - I hope I can make it next year again

My phone pics - campsite + attendants' cars:

Cars I saw and liked on Saturday:

R8 man is called Jan, btw. Really cool dude. I'll try to get him to join FG if he's active on the internetwebs.

I'll get my photos sorted tomorrow. I haven't even unpacked yet. Got home after an 11h25m drive and am just vegging out before going to bed.

Personally I would buy the last one and keep looking for a better shot at the Karussell.

Yeah, that's us. Besides, how many Octavias with a blowjob plate do you think there were at the ring?

Also, thanks for finding it, I'll have to browse through too. If someone spots us, please link, I'm considering buying a shot.

I didn't take many pictures, just from the Oldtimer Grand Prix at Sunday, but I went on one lap on Sunday between 16:40h and 16:55h. Found two pictures already:
    http://www.tourifotos.de/galerie/alb..._6853.jpg.html
    http://www.tourifotos.de/galerie/alb..._6851.jpg.html

For info: on the racetracker-website there are links to other pictures of the same car below the current picture. Sometimes the script recognizes completely different cars as the same car, but it helps sometimes.
