Hey just wanted to say I feel the same way about how engineering is taught at the university level these days, way too much math and theory and not enough projects and hands-on as aluded to in books like "Shop Class as Soulcraft."
Actually now that I've graduated and feel discontent with what I did for the last 4-5 years, I've actually been thinking about entering a vocational school or taking some community college classes for some stuff I sorely missed in uni, before I go for a Master's.
