    2018 Skoda Octavia 1.0 TSI

Congrats to your new car (Octavias are always a good choice imo), would be interested in an update about the satisfaction with the power level after a couple of months of experience.

Phantastic review of the Jag XJ220 and Bugatti EB110, great idea to show the magic of them as well as the technical progress since they were built.

Someone Else's Problem: Ein Deutsches Wagen für Galantti (2011 Audi A7)

Great ride, especially in that colour combo (exterior and interior).

    [2x07] It's a gas, gas, gas

8/10. Conversation street was pretty boring this week, apart from that I liked every else. I somehow can't get rid of the feeling that without the rallye segment ratings would be noticeably lower for this episode.

Wouldn't have necessarily needed the Dubai bit, liked the Up GTI report a lot and don't think that the Farmkhana bit was as bad as eveybody said including all the cheating examples. The bit with the sheep was a bit silly, would've been nice to know how the windscreen really got broken.

    Carbage

Don't know about the headlights, but the grille looks more like a spare one that just isn't painted.

    Bicycles!

My commute is 10KM as well. My principle is that I don't start a bike commute in rain, otherwise only lazyness will keep me from taking the bike.

    Bicycles!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I even got a new bike mostly in order to reduce rolling resictance, so there'll be no winter tyres for my bike. If this winter turns out to be as mild as the last I most probably will encounter temperatures between -2 and 4 degrees celsius in the morning, and...

    Bicycles!

Appropriate clothing's not the problem, but me monitoring the thermometer in the morning definitely needs improvement. :) Btw has anybody of you ever tried our bicycle winter tyres and experienced huge differences?

    Bicycles!

Just dump other things you want to do when you're feeling fit and take a ride. ;) Froze my ass off this morning, maybe it's time to take the car again for commuting to work.

    Rental Car Roulette

The Astra had a system called IntelliLink. As it appears, it's not so Intelli at all, because the only way to connect my Android phone was via the selection for an iphone device, it didn't recognize my phone at all when I was trying to connect it via the Android option.

    Rental Car Roulette

Seems like Opel/Vauxhall have very picky Stereo devices. I rented an (Vauxhall) Astra last week and had the very same issue. The phone connected for a minute and played my music before disconnecting and switching back to radio. Also, I had the impression that the headlamps were pretty weak but I...

Forum-wide survey: How oomphy is your ride?

Thanks for adding, the figure is correct. Sorry for the delay, I spend the last two weeks on holidays with nothing else in mind.

Forum-wide survey: How oomphy is your ride?

I upgraded from a Skoda Octavia II Combi TDI to a Skoda Octavia II Combi TDI (changed my 2006 1.9TDI for a 2012 2.0TDI last year). New figures: 1968ccm, 103KW, I4-Turbo Diesel, 1410KG.

    Rental Car Roulette

Looking forward for that review. I drove the Altima (base 4cyl model) for 15 days last year in late summer on my holidays for 5k kilometers and got a pretty precise picture of it. I'll share my review as soon as yours is finished as I do not want to interfere with your opinion on it.

Given the choice... (Best rental for a Canada/US trip)

The Chrysler is the least favourite on my list so far, glad to hear you were satisfied with the Toyota, might not be that worse after all if I got that.

Given the choice... (Best rental for a Canada/US trip)

I'll be off to Canada/US for holidays in a couple of days (Nova Scotia, NorthEast US and French Canada) and wondering, assuming the rental car company had different cars in their lineup of full size saloons, which of these cars you'd pick/recommend. My requirement is a roomy, full size saloon...

    Chris Evans quits the show

Well said, that would be exactly my preference as well. Not sure whether Sabine fits in the show at all. Undoubtly she's a great driver but somehow lacks the easiness to get through to the audience.

What colour are your seat belts?

Black. That should be the most common colour for seabelts because they change least when getting dirty I guess.
