    The Power Tools Thread

You can get a compact 3.0 high output for the router. I own both the standard XC5.0 and CP3.0 and prefer the smaller one, power is actually better with it. Overall runtime is going to be shorter and the warranty is only two years, but I'm not going to burn out a battery that quickly.

Got my ELACs today; All I can really say is I'm astonished. This is my first genuinely decent set of speakers.

The "Things that annoy me" thread

Nearly got driven off the road by a woman in an SUV. if I didn't swerve to the right and slam on the brakes, it would have destroyed my car or worse. You could tell this woman was already annoyed, by being stuck in traffic and slightly bobbing around, looking for a way out. She ignores my car...

Fosi Audio and maybe others sell similar amps with the psu built-in, but they cost more.

AD18 is a decent little desktop amp with good sound and enough power for most bookshelf speakers. I've had one for just over three years and it never gives me trouble. Make sure you have space for the power brick to keep cool, it's pretty big and annoying.

Some more ELAC love on this thread, I just ordered a pair of UB5s. I've never spent so much on a set of speakers and I feel somewhat guilty for it. I've been debating over this for some time and it really is time to upgrade from the $80 speakers I bought fifteen years ago. These speakers will...

Maybe it does that once and needs a rebuild. You know, because it's a racecar... that you can't race.

    The "New Toys" Thread

I've been really pleased with my old AVR-1910 and surprised it kept going as long as it did. I played it way too loud over the years.

    The "New Toys" Thread

Last month, I had to buy a new AVR to replace my old Denon AVR-1910. I found a deal on a Denon X2700-h and holy balls, this thing is far more advanced than one might think. You can stream audio through it and it even has an app to configure the sound profiles. This has me rethinking all of my...

I agree with all your points. With all of the advancements, it's actually hard to make a modern car less reliable. My issue is that people get stuck with the "simple means better" idea.

This car is amazing, that it works at all with that mileage. Proof that Toyota is still the business when it comes to reliability.

    The Power Tools Thread

Over the last few months, I've been going insane over power tools and such, I actually call it red tool fever being that the focus is on Milwaukee tools. I've bought impact guns, blowers, string trimmers and vacuums. Just when I think it's over, the idea to buy something else comes along...

Brake fluid might be the least appreciated fluid your car needs. No matter how expensive the braking system on your car is (or how weak it is), the fluid is responsible for maintaining pressure and not boiling off or corroding the system inside out.

My order came in early today, so I was able to get the brakes fixed up today. New pads and hardware solved the problem. Now that I've upgraded to ATE Typ 200 brake fluid, the pedal is extra firm after repeated stops. Whilst not quite race grade, the brake fluid can withstand 280C in optimal cases.

As the story continues... Following a recent brake fluid exchange, the rear brakes started to squeal, enough to make me worry. I got around to looking at the rear brakes and saw the pads were rubbing on the disc and causing uneven wear. Investigation shows the retainer clips old and bent out of...
