    The Gun thread

I'm running into the same vitriol with Kimber (not directed at you) over on the AR15 forum. It's almost like some Kimber employees went on a crusade kicking people's dogs, impregnating their moms and/or girlfriends and stealing their cars for a hasty getaway.

    The Gun thread

Welp, only one way to find out. A friend of mine loves Kimber so I went off of his recommendation. My only goal at this point is to get a minimum 500 rounds through the Kimber before the warranty is up which won’t be hard to do. If I have any problems, I’ll be using that warranty to the maximum...

    The Gun thread

I bought a Kimber 1911 recently and I’m itching to break it in. I also bought a 28-round drum for it just for range use, but I’ve got this feeling that I may not be able to trust it to be reliable. If it ends up being a POS that’s ok, I’ll only be out $60. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Already saw that. Besides recommendations from a few cops I’ve known over the years, those charts are what convinced me that Hornady Critical Defense is my best choice for self defense.

    The Gun thread

That's the thing, I'm taking point blank range into account. It's not the only range I've taken into account, but it's one of multiple factors.

    The Gun thread

I appreciate the suggestion, but I'll stick with different ammo for target versus defense situations. My concern with target ammo for self defense is twofold: smaller wound channels doing less damage, and over-penetration in populated areas. I'd rather the bullet expand for maximum damage and...

    The Gun thread

I just bought my first gun, a Kahr CW380. I've had it for almost a month and I still haven't been to the range yet. Haven't fired a weapon since I left the navy 15 years ago so while my knowledge is probably rusty, my marksman skills definitely are. Caliber snobs may laugh at puny little .380s...

Just the usable ones are shown. I also have a 1960s Vulcain Cricket and a 1939 Bulova Admiral but they're out for service.

Ford says Fiesta won't return for the 2018 model year

Just wait until gas prices skyrocket, then the Fiesta will be back in short order.

The "post your configurator summary" thread

The most glaring problem with the Raptor is that I can't look at it for too long without popping a boner.

    Unveiled: 2017 Audi R8 Spyder

Fair enough, but I still don't see the point of a detuned version of essentially the same engine. AMG does the same dumb thing with the C63 and C63 S. It triggers my OCD.

    Unveiled: 2017 Audi R8 Spyder

Aside from styling and other subjectives, I'm not sure if I'll ever understand the point of a detuned Huracan. The Lambo doesn't cost *that* much more.

Ownership Verified: My first new car evar! 2016 Caddy ATS

At 40 years young, I remember being thoroughly unimpressed with most cars from the 80s and 90s, GM included. It's sad though, because there's still a chance to turn everything around. In some respects, there's been success. Case in point; I test drove a 320i xDrive before the ATS, and the Bimmer...

    Unveiled: 2017 Jeep Compass

That's pretty good looking; light years beyond all previous generations.

Ownership Verified: My first new car evar! 2016 Caddy ATS

I actually bought this about 6 months ago, so yea, I'm pretty late in posting this. This fine specimen is the Performance trim with the 2 liter turbo four and all-wheel-drive. I bought it straight off the showroom floor, and driving home I was happier than a pig in mud. I'll tell you what, this...

    Game: No Man's Sky

I've only logged about an hour on the game, but so far I'm liking it. No crashes yet, knock on wood.

Only in West Virginia... Dog crashes car into Walmart

Some older cars can be shifted into any gear without even touching the brake pedal. This such safety interlock is only a relatively recent feature. I don't know if that semi-old Mercury is one such car, but if it is, that lady should really look into something easier for dogs to drive.

    What's your latest [non-technology] purchase?

Recently bought a viola, as if I'm noisy enough in this apartment. And No Man's Sky for PS4; I've sucked long enough at Bloodborne and Overwatch, so it's time to suck at something different.

Post your Achievements - New Jobs, Academic......

Last year, I scraped by on $28K a year between two jobs. This year, with one new job, I'm poised to nearly quadruple that income. This is shaping up to be my best year in a very, very long time.

    Post Your Watches

Just recently bought this Superocean II 42. My job requires me to venture out to sea on small vessels from time to time, and while I won't test it's water resistance unless I'm already dead and sinking further to Davy Jones' locker, I figured a diver's watch would be best suited for my needs. So...
