    Feedback on a donation program/status?

I MIGHT have some unused FG logo stickers in my giant cache of car stickers if all other supplies on earth have been exhausted. I'll hit the donate button as soon as my replacement credit card catches up to me...

Start rally tied for first (with an LT1 Roadmaster sedan done up Houston Slab style) Car broke. Decided to go get my truck and tow it for the rest of the rally because that'd be hilarious. U-hauled it home. It broke the uhaul trailer. Transferred it to my truck and trailer. Total power steering...

Rally start in 33 hours. - Car... Uh, well, the guys who were building it managed to break the parts car windshield, but they say they have one lined up tomorrow morning and will drop it in, slam it in the trailer and go. And they're an 8 hour drive from the start line. - License plate and...

I mean, I'm not going to have much in the way of spares as far as I know, and I'm not going to dump any more money into this thing. The guys are somewhat supposed to have swapped the suspension back to stock off the parts car (which was pristine), but I don't know if they've had the time. The...

Next week, I'm doing the Lemons Retreat-From-Moscow Rally. Moscow, PA to Birmingham, AL (by way of Paris, TN) I'm driving The Worst Car In The World. Not the worst model. The worst SPECIFIC CAR. You know, this one...

FedEx Custom Critical trucks are almost always totally wild configurations. They do two kinds of work: - Cost is no object get it here as soon as physically possible - We literally cannot get any other company to touch this cargo because it's an impossible combination of...

Eh, I've got a couple months to dick with issue #1 and gather data for #2. I've got the electronics and software chops to pull it off, it's just a matter of how well the CANBUS chatter lends itself to reverse engineering. I'm not planning on emulating a full under-all-conditions drive cycle...

So late last month, I had a total derpstorm. Was working on replacing the engine in the Legacy and got fed up with stupid Subaru EJ engines and their stupid head gaskets, timing bullshit, comparative expensiveness and general leakiness and explodium fragility. On the other hand, I am...

What is Dead May Never Die - EyeMWing's sorta big red box

Overall plan is to do a low buck off-road park truck. Basically fix the tcase, maaaybe do a slip yoke eliminator, 3 inch suspension lift, wheels and tires. Gonna assemble my own spring packs in the back, will need to find some takeoff coils for the front.

What is Dead May Never Die - EyeMWing's sorta big red box

Correction to the above: I am reminded of the actual incident that broke the t-case for good. I had a l stripped Subaru Legacy chassis on the trailer hooked up behind the Ram. Naturally, it got stuck on the hill coming out of the garage. Needed something to pull it out. Instead of walking to...

What is Dead May Never Die - EyeMWing's sorta big red box

Back in the dark ages when the forum software worked and I intentionally made awful car buying decisions.... Well, one of those things hasn't changed when you consider I paid cash money for a 1989 Dodge Aries last month. THAT adventure will be coming to some form of media near you one day. But...

Timing off on an 06 Aveo

Note that on some cars it's HUNDREDS of revolutions before it'll line up right again on all the pulleys. When in doubt, just take the belt off and start over. I think it's something absurd like 700 revs on a SOHC Subaru, and "functionally never" on a DOHC.

Manual transmission! With a shift boot! I need that trim surround and the shift boot. It just pops off. Also, both front fenders, but particularly the driver's side. A very strong argument could be made for "I actually kinda need the entire body shell and the engine"

What I've got is a '90 Legacy. And at the rate the rust is progressing versus my rate of rust repair, I'm gonna need a new first-gen bodyshell in the next year.... That's a damn fine looking GL, though.

So I went to go buy a commuter box...

Interesting nugget up there about Snap-On replacing damaged bolt extractors. Every other tool vendor in the known universe explicitly excludes those. Might be worth the buy, since I've been through way too damn many $70 sets of those things already.
