Ownership Verified: Plug Me In, Daddy - Another Tesla Model 3 Performance

Still not driving for work so I took Nebs out for some exercise yesterday. This is a local viaduct, they still run steam trains over it occasionally. Great fun chucking it around the roads I used to drive in the Smart, it certainly gets out of corners faster than that little thing did and...

    Ineos Projekt Grenadier

Width and in turn track was ideal for its purpose (modern big 4x4s are a tight squeeze off road) but the introduction of thicker door cards and such to give vague safety made the interior too small. There's a certain irony in the price of this thing likely being higher than the old Defender.

That shrink plastic you get on bottles of mouthwash. Sure, there are perforated lines but you try getting hold of the top edge. If you manage that the chances are it'll break before you get to the bottom. Can you tell I've just opened a new bottle of mouthwash? I dread it. I have no...

Mini Roadtrip 2020 - Staying Local

There are solutions to this! Of course you ensure that the luggage on the back belongs to the passenger. It's totally reasonable to drive without a rear-view mirror too, I did so for the entire roadtrip. :p I'm not sure how my insurance would work, UK insurance covers the car for named...

    Ineos Projekt Grenadier

Eugh yeah they could've spent a bit more time on the styling. It looks like Defender (the shape) crossed with G-class (the bug eyes, the front bumper and the black strips down the sides) and the Dragon space vehicle with the odd curved bonnet and weird vents. No imagination really. The track...

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

Would you get more excited seeing British and European Sports cars? It could be a straight swap, American cars are something different and unusual here, they're also a bit too big for the roads which adds to that. I know some classic British sports cars like the MGB were sold in the US though so...

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

Indeed, I've been stereotyped as an SUV gas guzzler driver, a hairdressers car driver and now a Tesla driver so I just don't care how other people see me.

If I needed to add a third car again I would be looking at American Muscle.

Yeah having all that on one side seems like a bad idea, surely these things are designed to handle kids all sitting on one side though? The wood burner and your comment about speed reminds me of something.

Ringmeet 2020 - A clear case of Carownervirus!

Yeah I'll just wait and see, I'm usually done planning by now and don't like doing things at the last minute. :p Apparently that also applies to CB radio hand units too, which seems ridiculous as they only have one button.

Ringmeet 2020 - A clear case of Carownervirus!

My European currency card is frozen for an unknown length of time because the German company that runs it has gone under, like I needed another hurdle. News still says an 'air bridge' is likely from the UK to avoid 14 day quarantine but that's no good to me if I want to drive...

    Idiots + cars = LOL

Saw that the other day, I thought those looked like protection bars that popped up. Doesn't seem like the driver did anything wrong.

Good point, I completely forgot about that. In that case there really should be no reason to cool your car interior unless the temp regularly gets crazy, in which case you should have a sunshade or something.

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

I understand that it's intended for people who may leave their kids or pets in there and forget. Seems crazy. It would certainly help to protect the screen and the interior materials from heat damage and would be great in a hot climate but that's not the primary reason for having it. It still...

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

I briefly saw 35 in Germany in 2015, that was while sitting in traffic on the autobahn so the reading could’ve been skewed. That was the year the water pump on the Discovery exploded, I wonder why. Something you don’t get to see very often in hot weather is the interior temp while sitting. I...

    J.D. Power2020 U.S. Initial Quality Study

Wow, they managed to beat Land Rover to the bottom. That's impressive. If they're using warranty claims it's not surprising, pretty much every Tesla needs a tweak. Mine needed a couple. It's like the damn things are hand made. People don't seem to forgive more minor quality issues that other...

Cleaning Something Up - Matt2000's Childhood Vacuum Cleaner Obsession Comes to 2020

The world would be a very boring place if we all bought the same things, I recommend checking out Shark. Very good for pet hair I understand and more keenly priced than Dysons.

Cleaning Something Up - Matt2000's Childhood Vacuum Cleaner Obsession Comes to 2020

That scene is terrifying, I can see why you'd be scared. For me it was the threat of having my toes chewed off by the brush roll, my mum always had upright cleaners, I don't think I would've cared if she had a Henry or another cylinder cleaner. The cylinder cleaner with the motorised brush looks...
