Probably because F&F embodies everything that they hate about car culture. Which, now that I think about it, could make for a pretty entertaining interview. Just please, not Paul Walker. The Rock, on the other hand, I would pay to see interviewed by Jeremy.

I agree with everything you said. I watched the TGUK episode on Monday night and was severely disappointed. The jokes mostly fell flat, there was almost no information about any of the cars, and they didn't even tell us how they drive. I was cracking up all the way through the TGUS episode...

I laughed a lot, therefore it got a 9. The ad agency I didn't think was that bad. The hosts' ideas were funny, but the ad guys were pretty terrible. At least it was fairly short.

What does rep measure, and how will I build mine?

Just had to post this so someone can maybe explain it to me. I received negative rep for my comment below on the episode thread for 18x05, with the comment "watch the show before making retarded comments". Can anyone figure out what I said that may have been a) a retarded comment and b)...

Private Message Usage for New Members

I've had a few occasions that I've wanted to ask members about their personal vehicles or request information about mine, and the only way I've been able to is to go off-topic in threads they are in. It'd make the site a lot cleaner if I could keep off-topic subjects to a private conversation...

Not sure how to turn on personal messaging, might be a post count limit or something. Either way, all I can find is some issues with the paint on the roof and a crack in the plastic panel on the tailgate (which mine is afflicted with). Nothing about frame rust or corrosion, maybe the earlier...

You have a lot more time on your hands than I do. I was just giving a quick summation of why people who ride bikes for fun might be better on a track than those who just drive a car because they have to. I'd bet if you compare celebrities who choose to ride sport bikes for fun to ones that...

So... were you also upset about the Pinto and Samurai being destroyed? Or just the Corvair because it's a classic?

They definitely did, which I assumed meant they tested the top-of-the-line version, while Adam drove a slightly detuned version. Didn't the one TG:UK tested last have 575hp? I remember it being over 500 for sure. Either way, seems like one of the two numbers was a misquote.

Adam said exactly the same thing when they were teasing Tanner about it being beaten. And to be fair, the US version never laid out strict rules about what can and can't go on the leaderboard. We all assume it should follow TG:UK's rules, but they've never explicitly said what is and isn't...

    Top Gear Mistakes/Gaffs

Just checked to make sure nobody had posted this one. When Clarkson was reviewing the Vauxhall VXR8 (I believe that's what it was called over there... Holden Monaro with the 6.0), he said it's got a 6-liter engine that "only develops 300 horsepower.... but 500 torques!" In actuality it...

No, and a quick Google search didn't turn up anything. Got a link? You have to carry parts around in your trunk? Doesn't sound very reliable to me... Don't get me started on Toyota. I can't stand anything they've made the last 10 years. Every GM car I've driven and most Fords (which is a...

The Most Distracting Background Cars in TG US

I saw a sweet Chrysler New Yorker in the Big Rig film :dunno:

I would have liked to have seen that, but only if they used a manual Camaro for the testing. Nobody wants to see two manual cars vs. one automatic in an actual timed event. I do agree that TG:US doesn't concentrate as much on Stig lap times, but I think that's because when they do, it seems...

I don't want to get into an argument about Saab here, but their electronic systems are not known for being reliable. I did some research (I was looking into 2005+ cars) and they had numerous problems with all kinds of fiddly electronic parts that didn't seem like it would be worth the trouble...

Mmmm, triple Webers  Seriously? First, the Ford lost the drag race even though it should've come in 2nd with the Challenger first. Clearly a case of "best driver won", no sponsor money influence there. Second, two Fords lost to 2 men on horses! No sponsor money influence there...

Car vs. whatever that was race - The rally car parts were fun to watch, as rally cars tearing up dirt roads are always fun. Other than that, I'm just not that interested in "Car vs. Not a car" races anymore because they always seem so staged. I much prefer the "Jeremy in a car vs. May and...

Astros and Aerostars aren't exactly "soccer mom" minivans, but a Voyager definitely qualifies. I'd rather see them destroying Odysseys, Siennas, maybe a Pontiac Montana. Does an Aztec count? I'd love to see one of those pushed off a cliff "accidentally".

Nah, I'm guessing that they'll point out that the Corvair got a bad rap from Ralphie Nader, while ragging on the Pinto and Samurai (and why shouldn't they?). Although I'm sure in that Top Gear tradition they'll make some ridiculous fixes that don't actually work. Can't change EVERYTHING from...
