Jalopnik: Return of the VW Phaeton 2018

Hey, another Ariel owner who is also a VWAG fan. :P

Ferdinand Piech leaves VW supervisory board

See, I'd never wait that long. 6,000 mile intervals on synthetic oil for me and I check my oil every 2-3,000 miles, never noticed a bit of consumption.

Ferdinand Piech leaves VW supervisory board

Spectre is the resident VW hater of FinalGear though. :P To be honest, from reading his posts, you'd think VW had the worst quality control in the industry, but I rarely if ever hear reports of issues on newish cars and I'm very active on a number of VW/Audi forums. The MK3 and MK4 years were...

Movie: Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron

Cross-posting from F1 section. Is this an F1 engine in the background? (Avengers: Age of Ultron spoilers) Looks to me like a V8 F1 engine without an intake manifold, but I'm not that good. Anyone care to try to identify?

Bugatti Chiron (Veyron successor) spied during testing

I'm sure a regular Veyron would attract far less attention.

Ferdinand Piech leaves VW supervisory board

Maybe it's just the Beetle. I'm trying to think, but between some of my closest friends I know of now 10 VWs, 2008 and newer, with a total combined mileage of somewhere around 275,000 and the only issue I know of in that entire fleet was a faulty air-bag sensor or some kind in a 2012 VW...

Ferdinand Piech leaves VW supervisory board

None of these things have been a problem at all since the early 2000's.

    Jeremy Clarkson Suspended Over Fracas

People are stupid and they will use whatever medium necessary to voice their stupidity. It's silly for people to make a big deal out of this. It should be shrugged off. As others have said, there's always someone willing to wish death on you regardless of what you do. I'm sure even Mother...

P1 vs 918 vs LaNOPE at Laguna Seca. Finding out which is faster.

wut. The LaFerrari would be nowhere near as fast, that's why Ferrari won't let anyone test it. If it was faster, if it was even close, Maranello would have sent one down to Top Gear months ago. I doubt it's within a second of the 918's time.

Elon Musk predicts human drivers will be outlawed

Give us 200 years and this will probably be true. Fortunately by then I'll be dead, so I won't have to live in the hellhole created by this.

I'll be trading my CC for one of these if it actually comes out.

    [22x05] February 22nd, 2015

I could understand the three carmakers wanting their own test drivers driving, or even wanting to go to an impartial track (since the P1 was developed in part at Dunsfold), but the ridiculousness that Ferrari is pulling is just absurd and childish, and hopefully they lose customers if they don't...

    [22x05] February 22nd, 2015

Way to go Ferrari. Way to act like a bunch of Italian children. Porsche agrees to let the 918 run a test lap. McLaren agrees as long as all three are customer cars so that Ferrari can't bring a tuned car like they have been known to do for power tests. Ferrari won't agree to let them test a...

    Ownership Verified: 2012 Ariel Atom 3 - K20Z3

Hey, sorry for the late response -- I PMed you as well. Call Graham Howe at TMI Autotech. He is a good friend of mine, we have raced together. Tell him Jordan referred you. He will point you in the right direction toward an Atom Driving Experience and any information you need about getting in...

Top Gear USA devolving into typical low-class reality TV...

Makes no difference, I stopped watching after Season 1 or 2 (and barely watched those at that). I can't really remember. The only good segment I ever remember seeing was Tanner's drive through the huge metro city (was it LA?) in a 911. The show was DOA with Adam and Rutledge as Tanner's...

    GoTek designs new rotary engine

Neat. Will still be torqueless and therefore require a turbo to move anything large or move anything quickly. I'd rather people push forward on improved valvetrain systems for the standard RP engine. People say they're inefficient but what other design is there that is capable of producing...

    Series 22 Spoilers

Funny! :P It also makes sense characteristically. James owns Ferraris, Richard is a Porsche fanboi, and Jezza loves all things British.
