Yeah, but if they're selling it surely somebody is buying.

Sometimes I have to wonder about car guys. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/815415319/overview/ That's like, $1000 off a *brand new* one that'll kick its ass.

Yeah, that's how you'd do that. That particular instance seems like just catastrophically bad engine choice - the engine needs to produce enough power in its most fuel efficient spot on the power band - and lower RPMs are better if you've got more than one choice - not at full blast. There's a...

    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

Well, as a range extender genset it'll run exclusively at it's exact most efficient RPM under it's exact most efficient load factor, since the engineers get to pick that. This also means it's not going to have that spinning dorito sound, which is a shame. But it is small and light, which is a...

Eh screw the factory turbo, this is all about the 25 year newer NA engine. I actually literally have everything I need to pull it off (minus a custom exhaust and integrating the dash), it's just I can't be arsed putting it into a chassis made of iron oxide.

I *REALLY* want to own the outcome of that project. Problem is that the chassis I have is just ruined with rust. Easy thing would be to just scrap it... But it's got an absolutely pristine interior. And a gutted interior takes up more space than an actual car does, somehow.

Thinking about reset-buttoning the 1st gen Legacy project because there's just too much rust. There are currently 9 for sale in the entire country. Their locations: 1 with a factory Turbo in ski-country Colorado 1 at the 4 corners 1 in Albuquerque 2!!! in Reno 1 in Jefferson/Ultra-Norcal 1 in...

Yeah, that belt was so bad I contemplated changing it on the road, but I just turned up the music instead ;)

Left in the pre-roll for run 6 (around 7:38) so you can see the majesty of a '68 Charger actually being used.

Official times: AM Run 1: 64.971 AM Run 2: 64.269+1 cone AM Run 3: 60.224 AM Run 4: 61.992 <Break for an interminably long 1130AM-230PM shift chasing cones, literally a 5 minute lunch break and then another 1.5hr cone chasing shift during which I had the brilliant idea to position myself to...

Drag racing is one of those forms of motorsport where there are literally no barriers to doing it but there's never a damned schedule opportunity when the mood strikes.

Antisocial use of parking lot day, but same thing. Death toll: - Front right fog panel isn't snapping in right anymore - TPMS is stuck triggered (I may have rolled over onto the tire sidewall so hard a sensor got crushed? - Sunburn (on the side of my head that WASN'T facing into the sun!?) -...

Poorly, though there are mixed units that recirc enough to keep the ECU from complaining.

Running list of bits I'm not terribly fond of and what I can do about it: - Lack of fog lights. I don't need them, but the spaces are there, but the lack looks a bit pov-spec. Could either add them in (they're dealer-installed, so there's an OE parts kit), or go the to OE STI panels for that...

Point of order: The peak instantaneous output of a horse is like 8 horsepower. 1 horsepower is derived from the continuous average you'd get over a day of changing out horses you're using to drive a shaft 24/7 - so the horses are working at the pace they can sustain and there are momentary dead...

It's two things: On the one hand, WRX Douchebags. I have some upcoming video content about that, and how Subaru embraces it (there's a marked difference between how I've been treated as an Outback owner, Ascent owner, BRZ owner and now WRX owner at dealers). On the other, it's because the car...
