Need advice on whether or not to buy a BMW

I'm about as big a BMW fan as there is, but I would steer clear of the E90 335d. It's an oddball car with an oddball engine (BMW had to use a different, model-specific engine in the North American version) which will make servicing it very difficult in the future, even at a dealership. Also...

Judging by the position of the scorch mark, I'd say it looks like a galley fire.

Been busy lately (and will be for some time) - new job (more on that in the coming weeks) plus a whole bunch of stuff going on elsewhere in my life - moved house, broke things off with my (now ex) girlfriend...that sort of stuff. Yes. Post them, or if there are lots, link us to a gallery.

Boring or not, a modern commercial airliner is pretty much the most complicated, technologically-advanced machine that our species has ever conceived. It isn't the machine that has made the experience bland; rather, it's the miserable conditions that the airlines/airports provide that have...

None of your helicopter procurement stories measure up to the clusterfuck that happened (and is still happening) here in Canada. Back in the mid-1980s, our government was looking to replace our then-old Sea King ASW helicopters and Sea Knight SAR helicopters with a common aircraft. A...

Blue is the Cursor Control Device - basically, a mouse to navigate all the different screens and their menus. Red is the nosewheel steering tiller; most larger aircraft will partially separate the nosewheel steering from the rudder pedals (the pedals still have some steering authority which is...

Just to clarify something, this was done because it made for a funny photo op and no other reason. The Bucc isn't actually refuelling the Tristar. I agree. As much as lots of pictures are cool, I often read the forums on my phone/tablet, so these posts just kill the poor things, both from a...

    W Motors - Lykan Hypersport

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was, "man, a car with a name like that is going to look so stupid." I wasn't disappointed.

The pilot in that video crossed the line between good, safe fun and reckless endangerment. Flying that low and that close to people is unacceptable on any level. I hope that the FAA (or whatever regulatory agency this would fall under if it's outside the US) deals with this harshly.

Those new build Me-262s use General Electric J85 engines (the same as in the F-5); they are more reliable and rather more powerful than the Jumo 004 engines of the original aircraft (to say nothing of the availability of the J85).

That Epic is one hell of a nice aircraft when it's done - basically, it's a build-your-own TBM. Too bad the company behind it has had a rather, well...colourful history.

Ugly or not, the features of this aircraft could very well make it the first aircraft allowed to fly supersonic without any of the restrictions currently in place for supersonic aircraft.

So, Gulfstream has done a thing: This is the patent drawing from their years of research into a viable supersonic business jet. Note the telescoping nosecone (!) among many other novel features.
