First complaint for series 21 is in

I agree completely. This type of humor is one of the big reasons why the show is so popular. When I told my wife that this episode didn't have any car reviews, just the three of them acting silly the whole time, she said "Oh good, I want to watch it", so I re-watched it with her. Their humor...

    Fifth Gear 2013

I agree completely. This was my favorite series yet and I thoroughly enjoyed the last episode (even though I had to redownload in HD after the video switched half-way through). Jason and Tiff are a little annoying together, but I can handle it. I liked that there weren't too many segments...

    [03x06] September 25th, 2012

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I still think the crew sucks. I watch about 2 episodes per season just to see if the guys are getting funnier but I still don't like them. I know it's still finding itself but they really need to do some car reviews for it to be Top Gear. The antics only...

    Top Gear REVIEWED by Jalopnik

I've seen this with nearly every across-the-pond adaptation. If you watch "The Office", then check out the UK vs. US version. They took every joke from the UK version and slotted it right in to the US version, word for word. I'm not surprised at all that Top Gear would do something similar.

edmunds Inside Line reviews the ratings of Top Gear America

I agree that the hosts of TGA are really, really bland in comparison. However, the two shouldn't be compared because it's the constant British sarcasm that makes the UK version so good. The jokes are understated and witty, even in the early series' of TGUK, once they got rid of Jason Dawe...

    [01x01] November 21st, 2010

The show was definitely better than the Aussie version, which is still unbearable after a few seasons. I won't be surprised if it lasts for a few years, but it'll always be a thousand times worse than the UK version. I think we're living in a very special time and are spoiled with the current...

Forum members royally pissed after Hot Rod Magazine's "Corvette Hack"

For those of us who remember the 80's, the C4 (even the early one) was very, very cool in its day. Also, the 85 was FAR from the worst vette ever. The worst vette, ironically, was the best selling vette of all time, the 1975, with an earth-shattering 165hp! But then again, you have to realize...

    BMW 330i vs VW R32

I really like GTI's but I never saw the point in the R32. For that price point, they simply didn't give it enough power. Also, the Mark V's GTI's are getting old enough that I don't see a point in buying any kind of Mark IV Golf, unless you're broke. BMW's have their reputation for a reason...

Top Gear America hosts all wrong...

Mike Rowe would be absolutely perfect. However, to be honest, I'm not the least bit excited about the prospect of an American Top Gear. I fell in love with the British Top Gear mostly because of it's British style of sarcasm, that can't really be matched by presenters that aren't British. I...

    [17x02] June 10th, 2010

I think the new format is a huge improvement. I liked Fifth Gear up until they ruined it in the 10th series, then it seemed like they were trying everything under the sun to see what sticks for the next 6 series. It looks as though they're getting back to the old formula and I definitely like...

    [13x07] August 2nd, 2009

I didn't care for the tone of the Aston segment. It was too serious and dramatic, and I don't think the end of this performance car era is as soon as he suggests. I just kept thinking he should lighten up.

    OFFICIAL:Aston Martin V12 vantage

This car is sex on wheels. The hood is a little much, but I'm sure it looks better in person. I wish people wouldn't whine that it ONLY has 510hp. Where will the hp wars end? 10 years from now will you guys be saying "Oh it only has 800hp, that's nothing these days." 510hp is enough to take...

    Our "own" car reviews

I think the worst ever was in the early 80's, when Chevy put a 7.4L (454cid) 230hp engine into their trucks. The mid 70's vettes were also bad at 180hp out of 5.7 liters. The 70's and 80's were a dark time for horsepower. That is, at least, from '73 on because that's when the government...

America has no good driving road?? BAH! What Bullshit!

There are many curvy, scenic highways through North Carolina and Kentucky as well. Some of most fun drives I've ever been on have been through those states. Now I live in the UK and although they have speed cameras, that's all they have! Cops don't monitor speed like in the states! You can...

    [15x04] January 26th, 2009

I really didn't care for this episode. The 7 series segment was the only one that I was remotely interested in, and it ended abruptly. I don't like Tom and Tim trying to be funny together, and I don't like filler segments such as the rally and race of champions. I guess there aren't enough...

Advise Needed: BMW Welt & Frankfurt Motor Show 2009

I rode on a Big Red Bus tour through London yesterday and it was like a moving car show. Even in the middle of winter we saw countless Ferraris, Porsches and Rolls', we even saw a Veyron!

10 sportscars for under 10k? : which would you pick?

I quickly checked ebay and found this little gem for a Buy it Now price of $12,000, which is only around 8000 euros. 99 Boxster, 63K miles, easily trumps any car on the original list for me. As for that Factory Five Roadster, there's no way on God's green earth you can build that for 14 grand...

    Torque for dummies

Very nice, I love the front end twisted like that. I had a buddy who put a small block chevy in an old Datsun 240z and when he got on it the first time he cracked the t-tops.

    Torque for dummies

Good point, twerp, in that drivelines and gears shouldn't be part of a discussion defining what torque is. Of course trucks and locomotives are freakin heavy, but I mentioned their engines as extreme examples of high torque, low revving engines that illustrate that torque is not related to...
