    The Pirate bay trials

Why didn't they do him on the basis that he actually physically stole a load of stuff that clearly belonged to someone else rather than an impossible to prove lost income suit :hmm:

    Troubles ahead for the EU

It would be nice if we could agree on foreign policy but basically we are all programmed to disagree entirely with whatever the rest of the continent says no matter what the cost. As soon as you mention that the French like an idea it instantly becomes a non starter.

    New phone with email access

I am getting towards the end of my mobile contract so looking for something new. I don't really use that many minutes or texts but want to get internet/email access and keep to contract to keep control of my monthly outgoings. The options I have come up with so far are: Nokia 5800: ?22.34pcm...

the Top Gear British phrases explanation thread

Not sure about the MRSA thing, I guess it was something else as MRSA isn't really a soldier thing. If it was MRSA then it's a drug resistant superbug most commonly caught in hospitals. Unless they mean some other MRSA but I can't think what that would be without watching the clip. Wayne, Lee...

No 56k: Experts on electrical sockets report! It's got holes in it!

I've only ever heard them called kettle leads if anything at all. Never Euro-leads. Mostly because I don't see what's euro about them?

We have them down by the floor with the switches on. It just makes it easier with chargers and stuff to switch them off but leave them plugged in. Most stuff I just leave on though. Also possible benefit when small children get their paperclips out? Also putting a separate switch is just a...

Dutch MP refused entry to Britain

At least they have some beliefs/principles, even if they are a bit suspect. Here they just try do do things that they think will either a) give them money b) give them power or c)make them popular - except they are so incompetent they have ended up with no money, zero popularity and shortly no job.

I was thinking along the lines of tripping over a cable or stepping on it by mistake.

Do you not find with 2 pin EU/US stuff that it is much easier for the plug to be pulled out of the socket?

Round pins are still used in the UK for 15amp sockets - like on lighting rigs in theatres and such.

    Random Thoughts....

If it isn't deep I have heard that some of the touch-up kits can give a surprisingly good result (good enough to avoid the cost of a respray and not really visible unless you look close and know where to look). I haven't actually tried it myself though - just managed to avoid an insurance claim...

    The Pirate bay trials

I think really calling your site "The Pirate Bay" was asking for trouble. I also think that whoever is responsible at the end of the day, if you obtain a copy of something protected by copyright without paying for it (or otherwise seeking permission) then it is illegal and the owners of the...

Daily Failwatch 09: Tesco bans girl with helium baloon under H&S rules.

I can see the store managers point - if the store is full of kids waving balloons about it would be really annoying for all the other customers. Plus the kid will let it go and the scream for 2 hours - and thats before they have the problems of balloons messing up the ceiling or lying on the...
