Unverified Ownership Summer car of 2022(ish), Mercedes CL 500 -02, Japanese of course

Damn Covid makes this super slow too. Finally a shipping slot reserved. It will leave Yokohama port on 28th, and should arrive in the end of October. Just in time for winter. I'm pretty sure I will not be patient enough to store this until next summer, but instead will give it some rust...

This looks so good, congratulations! RHD wagon as a daily, LHD targatop as a summer car. I approve this insanity.

Thanks! I already said after the S 500 L that the next one will be AMG. But I wussied out and bought the sensible one. And no suitable AMGs were for sale at the moment. Top speed is limited to 180 km/h as per Japanese legislation. This can be removed with a diagnostics system, but cannot be...

First parts, LHD headlights. They look so tiny on the car, but they are HUUUUGE. Wonder if they can fit any other cars to the same boat.

It was almost 18 months ago. Looong time. I even had it for over a year, which is a lot. And yeah, waiting part is the best part to be honest. Once they're done and registered, I lose interest and sell them (for a loss no less :D)

More pics came. Dents in bumpers look a bit worse than I thought, so some fixing will be required. Other than that, looks pretty nice. ABC seems to be working well too, as it tries to be a SUV.

Ownership Verified: Summer car of 2020, Toyota Soarer 2005

It isn't a sports car, so it is a bad if judged as a sports car, which is apparently what they did. It is a nice comfy GT on long trips, and a waft cruiser top down on nice summer days. And super reliable at all that. Sure it had it's downsides, like absolutely zero trunk space with top down if...

Yeah, my S class was also LHD even though it was an original JDM. It was some sort of status thingie to order European luxory cars in LHD. Which is nice. Newer models have less and less LHD available anymore, but until about 2010 it is quite easy to find these.

Unverified Ownership Summer car of 2022(ish), Mercedes CL 500 -02, Japanese of course

So the last Japan import (Soarer) was sold last week to a new happy owner. I was left with a JDM sized bunch of cash and an empty parking lot. I decided there is no rush, as the import process takes anyway three months, so this summer will be over before that. I have about 6 months to make a...

Unverified Ownership My Model 3 LR AWD

Forgot to update here, sold due the frustration on Californian quality. New car should not have this much issues. Bought a solid low-mileage diesel Mercedes - from the first two months it spent at least 50 % in workshop :D

Just read this topic again. Shame that the pics have disappeared. Next year it will be a decade after this topic was started. The white one was sold few years ago. The spare parts Cossie was scrapped because I cleared my yard before moving out. The original one - the red one - is still in...

Unverified Ownership My Model 3 LR AWD

Sensors replaced and works now, hopefully for a good while now. At -20°C really comfy warmth inside. Totally different than in the new TSI Polo I had as a loaner which struggled to keep warm and especially the heat was so much more unevenly distributed.

Unverified Ownership My Model 3 LR AWD

Don't know if it is a difference of preference or weather, or heat pump, but I have kept it only in Auto 19°C all the time, and it has worked just fine (until now).

The old heater is so much faster too. This takes Webasto like times to heat up the car in the cold. On Model S it was enough to start heating when I tied my shoes, and it was already a sauna when I walked to the car. Heat pump takes 15+ minutes for the same.

Unverified Ownership My Model 3 LR AWD

It decided that heating in -13°C is not necessary. I disagreed. The heat pump has some sensor problem which will most likely end up in a recall to all heat pump versions, but here in the cold it makes the car undrivable for obvious reasons. Tow truck picked it up on Sunday evening and brought me...

Hmm, empty battery should mean maximum charge power, that shouldn't be a thing that slows the charging down.

Thanks! Uhh, I thought the premium package could be just substituted with a Wifi... But if not, that changes things. I did drive most of the first trip with AP, but it was a bit unnerving for now... I'm sure it will be better once I get used to that. I currently live in an apartment now, so...
