Some updates towards the MOT-checkup.
I've replaced the rear camber-adjustment arms, quick and simple job. Unfortunately I didn't take too many photos of this job, took me about 20 minutes on each side.
Alot of play here, I could move the wheel up and down by hand when I had jacked it up :P...
I ordered a set of spacers today. I've figured out those rims dont come in my ET unless they're bad replicas. I've also gotten some "new" front struts complete with brakes! Now I just need to get the new springs and install everything to get it MOT'ed and ready for action :D
Hello, tiny update:
I've inspected and cleaned the air filter, it didnt look good  Fortunately its a KN filter so it was quick and simple to clean.
Dont have any photo of after the cleaning, forgot that...
I've also inspected the turbo for play in the bearing and I'm happy to say it was...
That was my plan, I started disassembly of the front struts last night and then discovered that they are different. Some changes have probably been made during the upgrade from 100 to A6. I found a few donor cars online so I'll do a round of calls today. I also found a reasonably priced brand...

Front right driveshaft-cuff (known)
Rear left and right camber-adjustment arm
Both front springs have barely chipped on the...
It does seem to idle smoother

I know not everyone likes this, but I have them there for practicality. They will help when I sleep in the car during road-trips :D
I also got a reservation for an MOT tomorrow, so I...

I also changed the oil/filter yesterday.
I'm planning on blocking out the EGR, but for now I just took it off and cleaned it
I've heard these things can be a pita to clean, luckily the first stuff I...
I didn't know the Touareg came with an R5 tdi. Edit: wiki says they did, and its apparently a brand new engine and nothing like the good old AAT/AEL 5er
Anyways, I've bought most of the stuff I need for a decent service today. Flushing oil, oil, and additives and windscreen wipers. I've...
Swapped over the fresh snow-tires I had on my older 2.6 today
I also discovered why the car was shaking badly at some speed...
Need a new tie-rod end, replacing this next week long with an alignment check.
This is the thread for what could be the most sensible car purchase I've ever done.
The car is a 1997 Audi A6 avant, quattro underneath and a 2.5 litre R5 diesel at the front. All connected via one of the best gearboxes ever made, the 01E 6-speed manual!
Some rust was to be expected, after all...
