A friend of mine with an E39 M5 would disagree with you. Parts are horrendously expensive. Porsche parts are pretty expensive too, and will cost you a great deal in either time or money. Ever tried to change the sparkplugs on a 997?

Doesn't have to be USP...the sport package uses the same suspension, albeit with 17" wheels.

Soft ride compared to what? A Viper? Audis are consistently among the stiffer sprung cars out there, particularly with the sport package, such as mine. In any case I wouldn't recommend an A4 unless you are able to do the majority of the work on the car yourself. Go with the G35.

I starting watching Top Gear around 2000, watching Tiff Needell powersliding the V8 M5 and 996 Turbo. Been hooked ever since.

It was pretty darn funny, and that R8 V10 is a thing of beauty. I'm still lost on Clarkson's logic about the 'Vette though. I'd give up a little personality in favor of build quality, refinement, comfort, etc..
