One thing that bugs me is all "America" this and "America" that.

Heh, but it's like that everywhere! Here for example (Brazil): No matter what you're watching, be a cooking show, a car program, or a porn movie. You can be certain they will find a way to put some soccer, samba and someone dressed in green/yellow in it :D

That was solid like a rock. They sure had fun with those trucks. Major LOL moments:
-Tanner doing donuts around the other two
-Rutledge showing off his alarmingly deep knowledge of F&F and Thomas the Tank Engine
-Adam had a lot more funny lines

They're really getting distinctive with it.

:idiot: Hello, American-based show? Go watch Jeremy's E-Type anniversary film from this past season of the mothership; that was, IMO, way more ridiculous than this. Then come back and say TG US is hard core nationalist.

-Rutledge showing off his alarmingly deep knowledge of F&F and Thomas the Tank Engine

Do remember he's got two young kids; he's likely watched a lot of it.

A very fun episode, for sure.

Woods' tangent on Thomas was one of the best moments of the series so far. Though, Tanner's comeback about the island of Sodor seemed kind of scripted. ;)

First one this season that I've enjoyed but still not that good. The truck part was pretty good but kind of ended without a bang. Put up a scoreboard and justify who won. Big star/small car... stuuuuuuupid name and incredibly awkward. Still not digging the outside studio and they need to do more in an episode than a brief race and a huge feature.

Season two is better than season one but that is not saying that much.

One thing that bugs me is all "America" this and "America" that. The Truck segment for instance would have been cooler had one of their trucks been a Tundra (and then they could all have been V8's). Sure the original Top Gear has pride in being English/British but that is with a sense of humor not something where you half expect that next moment the national anthem will start playing.

PS. It's pretty clear they can not do math. I mean 280.000 pounds = 140 tons is what they say several times but 127 tons would be the correct number.

It's tons, not tonnes. One United States of America ton = 2,000 United States of America pounds.

And, here I thought you were one of those educated, worldly Europeans. Oh wait, you're from Denmark. Never mind.

Don't like American Top Gear? Watch Danish Top Gear.

A television program produced in America for Americans. How could this happen? Don't they realize 8,500 lb. (that's United States of America pounds, not Danish pounds) diesel pick up trucks are irrelevant in Denmark?

You really have no idea, do you? The tucks in episode were all turbo diesel duallies. They all produce over 700 lb. ft of torque. You want to include a Tundra toy truck in that group because it has a gasoline V8 from a Lexus sedan? The Tundra cannot compete against the Ford F150, Chevy 1500 and Ram 1500 let alone the Ford F350, Chevy 3500 HD and Ram 3500. In fact, all of the tested trucks are rated to carry the weight of a V8 Tundra plus a thousand extra pounds.

This is America. Fuck off!

Oh come on, that's just unnecessary. How is he to know that Americans have a totally different definition of what a tonne (which is the British spelling) is? Yes, it's an American show aimed at Americans, but there's no need to tell him to f*** off!

Great episode

Enjoy watching it almost as the Uk Guys

And have to agree with GurraJG -

Beech18 - Not anyone elses fault that the US want to be different and use different weight measurements with same names, so dont get upset that they dont know the conversion rate.

dont care if the US use ton or tonnes. Smart people use the metric system anyway.

I thought a pound was what the UK used for money, which would mean at the current exchange rate 1 UK pound would be like 2000 US Pounds.

I'm Rich :)

But aren't Europeans so much better educated than Americans? Aren't Americans ALWAYS put down for not knowing about anything that goes on in Europe? Fair's fair and if we have to endure insults because the Europeans in the crowd think we don't pay enough attention to them, then we can take the Europeans to task for not getting the basics of OUR weight terminology right. ;)

Oh, and if smart people use the metric system then what the hell is a stone doing in the UK weight system? And mile?

I give it 7/10
Truck segment : ehh, it felt useless. Why you do all of that thing if you can't decide the winner ?
Race : No other word to say it, excellent ! 9/10
BSSC : skipped it, boring

Overall, the race is good. But the other segments makes a huge let down to this episode

Neither country/continent should insult the other for not knowing everything about each other. Most Americans I've meet are very intelligent and knowledgable people, but you get the occasional ignorant one. But you also get the occasional ignorant European. The point is, there's no need to bad-mouth other people for not getting something right. It's rude and unnecessary.

Anyway, as for the actual episode itself:

6/10
BSSC: Skipped. The interviews haven't been very fun this season. Partly because I don't know who the people are, but partly because they feel rushed.
Race: Felt slightly staged during the finish, but other than that, the highlight of the show.
Trucks: Who won??

Ill quote Jezza here (thats clarkson by the way) "you stupid man"

No you didn't. If you're going to quote someone, at least get the quote right. And more to the point, your tone is quite... rude.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I must have picked up my tone from watching Clarkson insult Americans on Top Gear.

Rutledge wins, I was crying when he did the Fast and Furious quote.
The wing mirrors on the Dodge were bigger than the bonnet.
He didn't do an eleven, Adam won.
Please kill the studio audience.
$60k is a bargain?
The mechanic. "uhww!"
Airboat? Road?
That airfilter is in a terrible place, no wonder it hydrolocked.
Let Rutledge do the show by himself.
Skipped the 'star' no idea who he is.
Explaining Thomas the tank...
Thats not a house, a big shed with windows.
Tanners a prick.

Personally, as a 1 ton diesel dually owner myself, I don't care that they didn't pick a winner. It's all pretty much scripted entertainment anyhow (like TG UK) and not to be used as a factual basis for picking a car/truck. It entertained me, which is all I ask of any TG episod, US or UK. I also don't mind the SIARPC segment (and yes I acknowledge it's the slowest part of both this and the UK versions), but then again, I like Bill Engvall.

And my wife loved the Local Motors segment before the race when Tanner killed the car, as she had just a couple weeks ago killed my 740iL in the same manner (well, in a flooded intersection in a heavy thunderstorm). Funny thing, when the car came on screen in the water she asked "why doesn't THAT car hydrolock when it goes through water?" And then it did.

Yes, i'd like to order some hydrolock please...
