Oh right -- even though I haven't gotten my hands on a rip yet, some people actually watched it on TV. Duh.

EDIT: I thought this went without saying, but I apparently not. Stop asking for the torrent, etc. If we had it, we would have posted it. This thread is for discussion of the episode, nothing else. Off-topic posts will receive a warning and have their post deleted.

It was alright. I was hoping for the 911 to be tested on the power lap but only to be disappointed. They should have showed Tanner getting play from that Hamptonite lady.

The only problem was the lack of a lap time for the 911. Even BSSC was funny as hell (I'm surprised they got an actor from Torchwood.)

I voted an 8 on this one, which was the highest rating I've ever given to TGUS.

The first half of the "cheap dream car" challenge was hilarious. But, more important, the 911 GT2 RS film was one of the best and most epic films I've ever seen, not just on TGUS, but on any Top Gear. Drifting through downtown Los Angeles? Yes, please.

I voted 10 because I loved every second of this epside but really 9.5 because how the hell can they not have the stig do a lap in the GT2RS??!!?

Best episode; I now like Top Gear America more than the original.
Adam's got the funniest lines.

Good episode!
Loved the gt2 RS clip and the cheap cars but the last challenge wasnt good at all really.

this ep was worth of 9.

Depends on which point of view you want to take, as a show which features cars to entertain, it was a 10, the challenges, the dialogue....GT2RS downtown LA....its like driving a GT40 in Detroit, oh.....but as a "Top Gear" show, no stig, no power lap in a featured car, its a 6....they a are defining the show, I still watch based on its merits.

9/10, loved it, just missing the GT2's lap time. Maybe sneak it in next episode? Adam is getting a lot better each time, I love his lines. ^.^

8.5 / 10 for me.

The challenges were very well done -- Adam killed it with at least 5 or so brilliant lines that actually had me laughing out loud, and I loved watching Tanner spit game at that woman. Having her end up driving HIM to the event was just brilliant. Tanner and Ferrara are clearly the stars of the show now, with Rut really just around as someone they can beat up.

And the GT2RS video? Wow. Seriously cool. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the supercar-porn films, but damn if that wasn't some amazing work filming a night-drive through LA. It looked like something out of a Fast & the Furious movie -- superbly well done for TV. It made me hate the fact that I own an SUV and live in Ohio. Probably one of the best TG films I've seen done in ANY incarnation of the show.

BSSC was actually not bad either -- the interview was lively (though, no surprise the BBC was able to get a star from Torchwood -- another BBC property), but the narration on the laps is just awful and dead sounding. You need the crowd reaction in the background for it to work, IMO.

Point deduction for no Stig test lap, and the fact that they, again, let their cheap cars get torn up at the end. I'm still waiting for someone to actually LIKE their car enough at the end to not let it be junked.

I'm echoing the same thing as some of you: Where was the power lap?

I have converted it to standard definition and would like to upload it(maybe there are others who can't watch it in hd or have limited connection); How do i do it,how do I upload it?

Use Megaupload (or something similar). Upload it there and share the link in the appropriate thread in the Video Offers section.

i highly enjoyed the episode... the star in car was good too..

I gave it a 9, downing it for no Stig lap in the 911 (which seems to be a common complaint here). The cheap car challenge, while amusing in places, was for me let down by Rut's choice of a kit car r/t buying an actual high-end car. What, no old Cadillac Limos for sale?

What I did like:
1) The 911 film was epic (though I really didn't need to see Tanner's tongue so much; I'll let the Hot Asian Chick be the sole enjoyer of that...). Like someone above said, it felt very Fast & Furious, and was definitely not something that we've seen from TGUK before. Will the British constables not shut down a couple of city blocks for them to film?

2) I actually liked the BSSC/SIARPC of this episode. The guest was very vivacious and really seemed to enjoy it. I would have appreciated the map of the track at the bottom of the screen to show progress because I haven't yet got the track memorized. Also, they need to start applying better names to portions of the track to familiarize the viewers with where the camera view is; apart from The Teardrop, there really isn't a landmark on the track.

3) I thought the electromagnet idea was brilliant, as good as the filling-it-with-water idea, though less visually stimulating (probably why Tanner threw the can at it). But when something came off, it By God came off!

4) Adam did get some awesome lines ("because he has a small penis!" )

But back to a familiar gripe: GIVE US MORE STIG!! I really don't understand (apart from time constraints) why they don't use the Stig more. His appearance is iconic and guaranteed to sell t-shirts, coffee cups and calendars. I love the outdoor studio, but we no longer even get to see the Stig on the wall to remind us he exists. In an era when merchandising a show can potentially be much bigger business than mere advertising revenues, I just cannot understand how the producers could leave out the most merchandising-friendly aspect of the Top Gear franchise.

The 911 GT2 RS was done very, very, nicely. It was great to get the LAPD the shut down some streets for this. I even enjoyed the drag race even though it was obvious who would win. Tanner defiantly knows how to drive.
BSSC was great though I don?t watch Torchwood but Arlene Tur ripped up the track and threw some good Spanish in there for added entertainment.
The Lady in Tanner?s Jaguar XJS was impressed with it V8 Engine omg it is supposed to have a V12. Then the Ladies in the Rolls-Royce ?I am feeling car sick?, ah you poor spoiled child you no AC.
As for the Stig not being on the show, if he has to be squeezed in then I favor leaving him out and focusing on making the segments top quality and un-rushed. Just like they were this week.

I like TGUS, in some ways more than TGUK, perhaps because these are the beaters and vehicles I grew up with or perhaps they are just doing it in a fresher way. However this episode just seemed like 45 mins of fill. The challenges they are doing are being done differently enough and should be interesting but they just seem lacking something. Someone else mentioned the shorter episode time, it is partially that and I think the feeling that there really isn't any competition? Or anything to lose.

Was waiting for the Fuex-arri to spit a piston during that er high speed run. Sounded like it hadn't been that far from doing it throughout the show.

Great episode. Funny lines, the challenge was clever.
The Porsche segment was worthy of any Top Gear Show.
Very enjoyable.

My favorite episode so far. I prefer the affordable cars since thats what im looking into and what i can afford. very entertaining.
