Late to the party, but only just saw this one. I gave it a 7 of 10, mostly due to missed opportunity.
The tunnel was great, and so was the Amish-hat-challenge, but for a cross-country road trip, the episode didn't FEEL "epic" (no matter how many times they would try to convince us otherwise).
I must agree that staying mostly on the interstates hurt them. I can't even imagine the comedic, weird, or interesting Americana they may have encountered along the way otherwise. Could have been comedy gold, and given us even more "epic" footage of the American landscape.
Also the cars were a mixed bag. Showcase the new Viper? I'm all for it. But Tanner and Rutledge would have been better matched to the new Corvette Stingray (or, if not available, some special edition C6) and a Shelby Mustang.
