Yeah the DBR9 street version should have been tested... unless its not publically available yet.. and its a shame the boys didnt win this one.. it was soooo close till the end

damn.... thats another good reason not to test it.... but in the past they haven "power lapped" cars that were in development.. IE the FordGT43 was in the studio, and then later jeremy drove it, but they didnt test it on the lap till they got a production model.
 
Well to be fair, I'm not sure the DBR9S had even been announced when they filmed all the track action...
 
Thank you all for enlightening me on that... it is so confusing in some ways :? So do people in that area have 'unfavorable' feelings toward each other? maybe some jokes or what not i guess hmm... well I still want to live in sweeden one day. I dont know why I've liked sweeden for many years :thumbsup:

I am not were happy about living in a welfare state. The taxes are too high. Especially on cars in Denmark and Norway. The scandinavian countries are poor compared to USA because of the big welfare state. Sweden would be the poorest state, if it was a state in USA according to this report (in Swedish). :?

Paying taxes at first seams very stupid but I acturlly kind a like it. I been living in the states for 5 years now. And, think Sweden's socialisting thinking are really great. Ofcourse there is alot of things that can be better. One thing, is more jobs. Which would lower the wellfare rate.
Schools, Dentist. etc. We all payed for it. so its free or very low price. Meanwhile in the States. I been to the dentist twise. I allready own 2000 dollars. thats like 20.000 krons. Its INSANE.

I watch the ep. agian. its still great. i'm not a big merc fan but what a sound that SLR had.

Then you should pay extra taxes if you like it so much, but don't force everybody else to pay to a system they don't like.

That is only around 13000 danish kr. With swedish VAT, you will have paid $2000 in VAT alone after spending $10000. And that's not counting income tax etc.

I'm not sure, but dentists in the states probably enjoy a state or federal regulation, which limits the number of dentists, which causes higher prices. That's the case for medical doctors anyway. Also, the L.A. area is more expensive than other places and has very high sales tax for the US. I'm not saying that the US is always better, just that a welfare state is bad. The US has somewhat of a
welfare state too.

In socialistic systems your fate is up to the mercy of the system. If you are unhappy with the schools or medical system, you have to pay for it twice. First for the unsatisfactory system through taxes and then for the service that you want. In Denmark, even many politicians send their children to private schools and pay to go to private hospitals. But not everyone can afford to pay for things twice.

That car is DKK 9.681.000 in Denmark with ~200% taxes. More than 10 million swedish or norwegian kr. or more than 1.5 million USD. Now _that_ is crazy.

Cars are so expensive, that many Danes drive old, unsafe polluting cars. And a lot of people can't afford to own a car, because of the high taxes on income, cars, car insurance, car ownership, gas etc.
 
costs about $480,000 in the US for the McMerc.

i guess the taxes make it rather...a far fetch.
damn shame that people have to drive old, unsafe, earth destroying cars.

You can see that the guy spotted the car on April 29, 2005. Guess that's when JC finally got there! That is the exact spot where JC parked when he arrived in Oslo. I wonder if he saw JC?!?!

It's actually kinda cool cuz I was just in Oslo in October, 2004 myself and I was right there too.... ahh, wonderful European memories! :D

Hello everyone,

I really enjoyed this episode, especially the race to Oslo, that was very interesting. I do have particular question regarding this episode if anyone knows:

Do you know what the background drum and bass sounding music was during the first half of the race to Oslo. It had a prominent flute tune and drum and bass beat, i.e. during Jeremy driving to the tunnel and entering the train?
