... I really don't like the new format of having a one-lap shootout rather than taking the best lap time. Even F1 drivers have trouble with that and Jimmy Carr showed just how much it can ruin their times!
I think it proves Clarkson right when he said Jimmy Carr was a rubbish driver who happened to put together one lucky lap. :p

i think that one lap shootout thing was only for the first show...
it was their way of getting everyone previously on the show back and setting new times in the new car.....

now its another story that hardly anyone showed up..

but ya it should return back to normal in the second episode... atleast thats what James said.

i dont think they change the one lap shootout !
that would be very unfair for the peoples in the first epsiode.

i think the good thing about this rule is that it will be more action, more spinouts ..

I barely believed this myself, but I went shooting at the zoo the day after Top Gear aired, and I was passing by the lion exhibit, when:

WHAM! Lion porn! I thought the coincidence was hilarious.

I've broken it..

JC: (for once half serious voice) what have you done!?!?

The clutch its gone.. Its only done 26mil...

JC clutches face....

Then Jimmy Carr!

That window smashing for either heat or something in the door was awesome!
Car wash was a bit meh. Pink car was ok, not very funny. CCX review was good, nice dog.. A bit quiet and a nice edition.

Same studio but made to look bigger, the Toy in the back during the diesel section was good.

Overall good! Wait for the new one now!

dont know if this was posted before in this thread.

but i cant't wait to see the new mercedes-benz s-class review.
in the season-trailer, playing at the beginning of this show, you see the dashboard of the s-class with the nightvision-feature turned on for a second.

does anyone know in wich episode they testdrive the new s-class? can't wait to see this.

fast cars are great, but i love those limousines even more.

hi everybody.

had a busy week studying for exams (i'm in third year medicine). well, all my comments about this episode have been pretty much said, i just think it was a great ep?sode and although i too found some scenes a bit short, it was because they wanted to do a lot in a single program.

i loved the ccx! it has been occupying my mind this week hehe.

about the increase in size of the torrents, i think it's for the better and the difference isn't as much. sometimes sound and/or video aren't perfect, so this will help.

cheers! 8)

What was that about CCX running at more BHP on bioethanol fuel?

The current ethanol mix (E85) has an octane rating of around 110. This means the fuel is significantly more resistant to detonation than any pump petrol. Less chance of detonation allows you to run higher boost levels, hence the higher power output.

anyone catch the preview on the last fifth gear episode where there are going to have a "pop star in a not so reasonably priced car?" they sure are trying hard over there....

They're having five...[ironically].

This does not mean the segment will be five times as good.

I very much like that Brit made Civic. I wish that thing was sold here in the US, I would've bought it in a heartbeat. It's got uber style and space to boot.

In the show, I especially like the use of the Imperial March theme song to describe the exterior.

Maybe there's a chance it will come here as the replacement for the Acura RSX, which has just been nixed. As far as I know, the Acura TSX is the European Honda Accord, so in the end we do get some of the non-North American product.

Ok, so I'm a bit behind the curve. Spent the second week of May in Los Angeles working a massive convention, so I just got caught up a few days ago.

Anyhow, I'll be honest in saying that I'm not totally sold on the look of the new studio. The size is good, but its decorations / lighting are a bit too garish. And the giant Stig tapestry, and the stage that looks like a gear, those are just silly.

Also, I was a bit disappointed that they made no mention about the crazed millionaire in Malibu who totalled an Enzo, especially since he owns another Enzo, and a McLaren SLR that was reported stolen by scotland yard.

But the Koenigsegg CCX review is one of the best ever. its good to have the boys back.

You know what kinda threw me off in this episode? The music that started at 10:19. Yes, I know it a Blink 182 song but it seemed so...what's the word I'm looking for? Generic. How often have you seen a scene like that? Dudes in a convertible with a generic guitar riff. It just felt out of place for Top Gear, you know?

Alright during the opening montage there is footage of the Alfa Brerra, i have watch the season and cannot find anything with that car in it! Has anyone seen it?

The start when Jeremy said that "Top gear dog" had vomited all over James was just hilarious. And the micra bit was Extremely good.. (maybe a bit short but still that color omg  )
