NecroJoe is deffinetly american. I bet he is fat and eating fast food right about now. not to mention he must also be cuming over a 05 stang on huge chrome rims. (joking joking)

but really, he must be american. Vicky Is hot , just listen to her. saying white is never cool is really sad. like the guy above me said. look at the porches. Stang is deff not best value for money, unless all you care about is HP. Axle makes it cheaper? by how much? 50cents? limited slip diffs are 1k ish at the most, for awesome quality ones. ..what are you saying about plasticky ....have you ever frigin driven a stang? look at the auto tranny knob. its a fucking JOKE. doesnt get more "toyish" than that. ever.

That is a horrible example, but I am quoting it so an entirely new page can burn their retinas upon that image.

Finally watched it - what a great episode, absolutely nothing to complain about at all, that was pure entertainment at its best!

And notice, every episode now they try to do something thinking its very easy and ending up failing.

Yes, the pattern seems to be simple. They introduce their weird plan of doing sth brilliant they haven't done yet, and ask: "I mean, how hard can it be?". And that means a disaster is going to happen ;-)

If you go to topgear.com, you can read about JC's attitude towards downloading. In the same article I think he mentions that the first ep costed 300k.

Well they need to realize that there are some Americans that can put up with and even get a laugh out of the Jeremys USA bashing and send us a DVD. Id buy it.

"It weights 600 pounds which is like having a whole American on the tailgate" I mean im from California, i eat fast food and hamburgers a lot yes, but im 6'2" 145lbs. Im pretty thin. That was a funny joke and obviously he loves to stereotype. Whoopie who cares

Until they start showing it on US tv, which will never happen, I will continue to download without a shred of guilt.

BTW he says it cost ?200,000 not ?300,000

Yes, I am an American, but spent several years living in Germany.

He he...hardly. I have never seen chrome rims I thought looked good. As far as the mustang goes, these are my favorite rims:

Simple and sporty.

She sounds like she's been smoking for 30 years, or has a really bad cold. Either way...mmm...phlegm.

Okay...you got me there...Porches do look good in white.

As far as, for example Porsches...umm...and what's you're point? They are ugly in white, too. White cars went out with the 80's.

I said it was the best performance/value for money. In this price range I could get an MX-5 with only 2 seats and a tiny trunk? An RX-8 which would get crushed in an accident? Remember...I live in America...land of the SUV and very large people. How about a 350Z with an engine that sounds like tin and an even WORSE interior that the mustang? (Not to mention...I think it's a pretty ugly car)

An IRS conversion Kit for the current mustang will run at least $5,000. A Live axle kit for the old Cobras costs about $2,500. Not to mention, an IRS is about 70-100lbs heavier, and would take up more trunk space. The SRA is more reliable, and even Top Gear admitted, in their review a while back, that it did make it around the corner, without badmouthing it's ability to do so. If it was actually bad, they would have called it out. All they said was that is was an old system...not that it was bad.

Well...unless you count most modern Nissans. Well, pretty much any car that has silver plastic looks toy-ish. Don't blame american cars for their interior materials. There are laws that state that the interiors have to be made of a certain % of recycled materials, which makes many soft-touch surfaces prohibitively expensive. Blame the US government on that one...same reson Lotus's won't look like they do in a couple years...you can blame the EU's pedestrian safety laws on that.

And in response to the last line of your comment...if you're buying this kind of car...why the HELL would you even THINK about an automatic?!

And...as far as the "pants"-in-the-microwave thing...I was thinking something more along the lines of...

the porsche typo was stupid. I admit. about the value/money. funny you talk about the miata because its what I will get soon. drive both and you will see what car is better. again mustangs are rubbish period hehe. why are the axles so damn expensive? I based the price on the miatas axle (mazdaspeeds). hmm so much money for so much rubbish. about the knob, I talked about the auto because I thought it was funny, but in no way I would think about gettin an auto on ANY car. Im not old enough for that.

stang = rubbish k. btw I live in america too

hey guy
ive been using this site to get my weekly fixes of top and fith gear for a long time now but i never used the forum before. i was just kind of confused about one thing from this weeks top gear. did anyone else notice how at the start it says this week richard gets a new top gear dog. i dont understand that now that i watched the show. wheres the new dog??

Would have been in reference to his Camper Van which was, I think you'll agree, a bit of a dog.

On Wikipedia if you search for the Koenigsegg CCX, and scroll right down to the bottom to the trivia section. It says:

"The CCX was featured on the May 7, 2006 edition of BBC motoring programme Top Gear. It was test-driven by Jeremy Clarkson, who praised the car highly but criticised its lack of downforce, which he attributed to the lack of a rear spoiler. Later in the same edition, the car was crashed whilst being driven on a timed racing lap by The Stig, who also went on to claim that the car would be significantly faster and more stable with a spoiler. Koenigsegg then wrote back and said that they will put a rear spoiler on the car in the near future and promised to return the car back to Top Gear for further testing. The CCX is due to return to Top Gear on May 21 with a spoiler installed." So if the car only arrived that day they probably didn't have time to alter the show to fit the car in it.

It kind of sounds like it was due to appear on Top Gear on May 21, but who really knows.....

0-60
MX5 6.5 sec
MGT 5.2 sec
Advantage: Mustang

1/4 mile
MX5 15.6/89
MGT 13.8/103
Advantage: Mustang

lateral g
MX5 .85-.87
MGT .87-.9
Advantage (but slight): Miata

Plus, I carpool to work with 3 people, and I like to drive. If I only carpool with one person, I don't get to skip the bridge toll, and I only get 1 additional person paying me for gas and milage I'd be putting on anyways.

again mustangs are rubbish period hehe.

Eh, They look great, they fit my body well. Everything about the ergonomics of my girlfriend's Hondas, or my former Chrystlers, and Saab just don't fit me as well as a Mustang,as most Fords,do.

Yes, I know I'll be changing out my transmission every 50,000 miles and a faulty 5 cent ignition piece will probably burn down my garage, I'll have to bring it in for 3-4 recalls a year...but to all that be damned.

BTW: again, while I'm 100% positive the Miata best drive, I like the styling of the Saturn Sky better...yes I know I'll have to get out to fold down my roof, but the way I look at it...I used to have a Jeep Wrangler...no top could be any worse than that. Save maybe a VW Thing.

The only reason I'd think about it, is if I'd move into San Francisco. As confident as I am in my daily clutch abilities...something about starting on a 30* hill just doesn't thrill me if, say, I'm driving home from a very long day at work, or a very short day followed by a long night of "unwinding".

p.s. for those of you who have never been to San francisco...those buildings are actually regular straight-up-and-down buildings.

Hmmm Top Gear back to better form this week.

The good:
Boat bit was probably the funniest challenge ever from beginning to end.
James was hilarious through-out (You utter pirate!!)the
Exige review was good, but I'm biased but my love for Lotus' (loved the concorde bit at the end too)
Cool wall - "He's wearing shorts!", "Do you work for Jaguar? - Yes"

The bad:
SRPC was horrid
As mentioned Jezza forgeting to mention power numbers for the exige was a big oversight
Could of used another car review stuffed in their somewhere; Just felt a bit light.

BTW: I think I'm up to my 5th watch at the moment, so that usually means a good ep.
