If you've seen the episode, discuss it here. :)

Was that bollard cool or what, Laughed a lot...

The rest of the ep. wasn't bad either and a nice prize, though i'm not a big fan of the stilo, it should be worth quite a bit.

The bit on the Goodwood festival of speed was great, I'm aiming to go next year, anyone from finalgear want to join me ?

There's a torrent about it somewhere, I'll see if I can find it and post a link.

ok.....

- S class review was ok, glad plato wasn't in the rest of the episode
- Goodwood sector was good AND LOOK believeable banter!!!! see, Ford can carry it! (can't believe he stalled it THREE times though)
- The bollard thing was ok, bentely is a bit random.
- My god the economy thing was useless. it was the whole michael schumacher thing that was the hook, and it sank. btw, VBH's interviewing skills are top notch (fuckin beetles or what not, top gear would have had him round the track and had a proper interview.). And that rivalry thing is getting unbeliveably gay now. Top gear does it better though.
- Shoot out was ok - I don't like that format, the cars are close - so RACE THEM! Also the track just doesn't have any familiarity and the commentary is lifeless. (On top gear they drill into your head the corner names and what they're for "hammerhead - test of understeer" etc)
- If there was something else it's gona out of my head, presumably because it wasn't worth remembering.

How the **** did he keep stalling the car? even my 11 year old little brother knows how to get moving in a stick just rev high and be very very easy the clutch if you're not use to a stick problem solved. maybe he was trying to spin the tires to show off or something.

Yeah, it makes sense to compare the clutch and gearbox of your car to that of a Maserati Birdcage. In fact, they're identical.

That is to say, that I was dispapointed with the segment too. 5th Gear dropped the ball twice. First the Koenigsegg segment, and now this. The Birdcage probably had a mammoth clutch pedal with like 2 inches of travel or something ridiculous. I'd bet it's incredibly difficult to modulate, but still a disappointing show.

Released, get the REPACK, and enjoy. :)

i actually quite liked that episode.

-the birdcage.. if i stalled 3 times.. id hang myself.. it make have a tricky flywheel, or a difficult short clutch like people suggest, but nick mason got it to go.. also no alTernator?? wth. ( he also was revving it.. you can hear it. he just couldnt finish the connection.. )

-the schumacher review.. 10 minutes of inteview time in Uk.. and she asked those questions.. sure its relaxed, and may be nice for him.. but he seems to always be working she should have asked more thought out questions.

What the fuck is with VBH and the word 'mega' tonight? She even had it in the Top Gear Motoring Survey they ripped off, when she was typing on the website.

The S-Class was a let down... Plato sucks balls. Although Tom was hilarious with the Maserati and those noises he made... anyone suspect it was just a joke? Maybe they didn't want him to actually drive it.

P.S. Stop complaining about the Superamerica's roof people, how much dust is it exactly collecting when you put the top down for an hour and drive quickly?

This weeks' episode is ok, it's not as good as last week's IMO. The S-Class doesn't looks that good to me, but 380hp and 7-speed is good I guess. The Fiesta vs the Colt, I was expecting the Colt to win, what's up with not letting people turning off their stability controls? If Mitsu doesn't want to go bankrupt, they need more than just the EVO. They should take a look at how the Civic Si (or Type R) and copy the formula. The Schumacher race is kinda stupid. There's no way VBH could've beaten Shcumacher, so why even bother. Thanks for the release.

Rubens looked happy

An alright episode but the hole eco run at the end was abit boring.
Bentley segment was really intresting and to see it work after being hit was suprising.

ok episode...

Pfft asking Shoe maker which Show is better.... He said Fifth gear...

probably doesnt even know what top gear or fifth gear is... (probably does hehe)

Is it just me or does she show lack Content?

Its like Going to the shops, purchasing a box of special k, opening it... to discover its empty... Its just not on!

Can i be the first to say, i dont care about some rich mans famous signature? or him? I want to see someone DRIVE a CAR..

Damnit i just realised this show had a 10 minute review, a 10 minute Lap comparison, and that was it.

3 cars. 20 minutes. 40 minutes wasted on shoey, truck smashes (which was kinda cool!) and damn i forgot... oh yeah getting people to sit in the Ferrari chair.. WAY cool segmant... not..

Haha, I just skipped thru the Ferrari seat segment, that was a boring segment, they could've used that time to test drive the Fiat Stilo.

I did like Tiff typing that the car he was reviewing was "the best car .... IN THE WORLD". They're really going after Jeremy / TG this term, which makes me curious to see how TG will retaliate - perhaps we're facing car show warfare!

Poor Barichello, he looked like he was dragged there against his will, and then ignored complitely :)

Apparently someone at fifth gear reads EVO and visits some UK car-forum. Wouldn't it be cool if finalgear came up that list when he pressed f-i-..? :)

And what's with complaining about stalling that Maserati, ppl? You can't possibly know how it feels. It sounded like it has tiny flywheel and probably very tricky clutch. Even many Carrera GT owners keep stalling their car for few days, and it's a production car, while Maserati is still a prototype. Heavy clutch means you can't feel the moment it grips, and when engine revs like crazy I totally understand how controlling it can be hard.

For a change, Jason made a good review. I hated his Zonda segment but this Merc S-class raport was good enough. He seemed a bit more humble to me.

Oh fuck that Maserati is quite a beast :D
But the banter with Tiff was so terrible it made me cry blood.

Shootout was not even worth watching. Cars I've seen dozen times before and the result was very forseenable. Although this shootout was WAY better than any VBH shootouts.

As always, it is was it is... Fifth Gear in a world with cars that have SEVEN gears!
No, but seriously, I'm not going to get started about which one is better: they are different and I for one want them to stay that way.
It's a car show with some informative bits in it and it's a good way to spend 45 mins of my time (better than actually working!).
TG makes me laugh and remember each show, it's entertainment in the purest sense of the word.
That said, VBH is starting to get on my mind with her "eeks" sounds!

First person to tak VBH outside and put us out of our misery gets a

She gets a rare Schumacher interview and wastes it, and even worse thinks hes flirting with her when he says he prefers Blonds. (Mrs S is a blond btw)

That car will be worth a fair bit in the future though, a very good prize. In fact to be fair. They give away a different car EVERY weeks so thats pretty good going :)

Maybe its just me,...but I could hear a phone ring at about 7 and a half minutes into the show. I'm sure it was ringing in the studio...but no one answered it for a while and it drove me nuts. :x
They should be more careful when in post production.
